Walchand Institute of Technology (WIT), established in July 1983, is an unaided engineering college named after industrialist Seth Walchand Hirachand. Located in Maharashtra, WIT is approved by AICTE and the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. The institute offers six undergraduate and four postgraduate engineering programs and is a recognized research center for doctoral programs under P.A.H. Solapur University.

In 2021-22, WIT was granted autonomous status by UGC and Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, allowing the institute to design its own curriculum and conduct examinations. Degrees are awarded by Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University upon successful completion of programs.

WIT is accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade, and all its undergraduate programs are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Admission Process

Eligibility

• B.Tech Admission

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
• Admission is based on the MHT-CET conducted by DTE, Maharashtra.

• M.E Admission

• A minimum of 50% marks in the relevant Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A valid GATE score is necessary for admission.

• Lateral Entry

• Diploma holders can apply directly for the second year of the B.Tech program.

• Reservation

• 51% of seats are reserved for Jain candidates in both UG and PG admissions.
• Reserved category candidates receive a 5% relaxation in marks.

• The Facilitation Center verifies the documents and confirms the application, issuing a Receipt-cum-Acknowledgment.

• The Provisional Merit List is displayed on the DTE website, followed by the Final Merit List.
• Category-wise Seat Matrix for CAP Round-I is published.
4. Option Form Submission
• Candidates fill the Online Option Form, listing 1 to 300 preferences of courses and institutions in order of priority.
• Confirmed preferences are considered for CAP Rounds I, II, and III.
5. Admission Confirmation
• After the final CAP Round, candidates report to the allotted institution and confirm their admission.
