Named after the renowned philosopher, thinker, and poet, Vemana, YSR Engineering College of Yogi Vemana University is a constituent college of Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa. It is a technical training institute set up with government support and since its inception in 2008-2009, has been striving to cater to the needs and dreams of aspiring engineers in Andhra Pradesh, particularly among the rural populace. Formerly known as Yogi Vemana University College of Engineering, it was renamed in 2010. The college has shown commitment to produce engineers in established and conventional disciplines in general, and in the areas of Computers, information and Communication Engineering in particular. 
The college, being a budding institution and owing to paucity of space is presently run in a shift system in two locations i,e., YSR College of Engineering of YVU and SKSC Degree College.

Established in 2008 with the noble purpose of enabling rural youth with higher education so they are empowered and competent in the field of applied sciences, YSR College of Engineering gives an opportunity to aspiring engineers to capitalise on the opportunities available in Proddatur, an emerging industrial hub in YSR district. Currently, YSR Engineering College admission offers graduate courses in a number of Engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science and Informatics and Metallurgy for students to acquire their B.tech degree in.

• Admission to the college is open only to students with Andhra Pradesh State Domicile.
• Prospective students must have accomplished their intermediate (10+2) with the minimum marks, or more.
