SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2025 is different for both prelims and mains. Candidates will have to answer 100 questions in 1 hour for the prelims exams. On the other hand, candidates will have to answer 190 questions in 2 hours and 40 minutes. The detailed exam pattern for both SBI Clerk prelims and mains is given below.
The SBI Clerk Prelims Exam 2025 is scheduled for Feb 22, 27, 28, and March 1, 2025. The exam will have 100 questions to be answered within an hour, i.e., 60 minutes. The total mark of the paper is 100. The candidates are advised to check the SBI Clerk Syllabus 2025 along with the pattern to check the sections and weightage for each of them.
SBI Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern
The preliminary examination will be conducted online and it will be an objective type exam. The exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions for a total of 100 marks for SBI Clerk Exam 2025. The exam duration would be of 1 hour consisting of 3 sections only. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. Exam difficulty will be moderate.
The questions will be asked from the three sections which are:
- English Language
- Numerical Ability
- Reasoning Ability

Note
- Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be added to the selection. The preliminary exam is just qualifying in nature. Only the Main Examination marks and Interview marks will be considered.
- Candidates are free to move through the sections. There is no hard and fast rule that they should attempt any one particular section first.
SBI Clerk Mains Exam Pattern
SBI Clerk Main examination will be conducted through an online medium for the year 2025. SBI Clerk 2025 Mains Exam duration will be 2 hours and 40 minutes.
The main examination will consist of 190 objective-type questions for 200 marks for the SBI Clerk Exam 2025. The subjects include:
- General/ Financial Awareness
- General English
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude.
The SBI Clerk Mains exam 2025 question paper will be set in both English & Hindi language. There is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer given by the candidate.
Candidates who will successfully qualify for the Preliminary Examination & Main Examination will be called for group discussion and interview rounds.

SBI Clerk 2025 Pre-Exam Training
Before the SBI Clerk Exam 2025 is conducted, the State Bank of India (SBI) has arranged a Pre-Exam Training (PET) for the students who belong to the SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen/ Religious Minority categories.
- Candidates who belong to the categories other than the mentioned are not eligible for this training.
- Candidates belonging to the above categories have to specify whether they want to attend the training or not at the time of filling SBI Clerk Application Form 2025.
