TNUSRB SI Syllabus 2023 is segmented into two parts - Part I/Paper I and Part II/Paper II. TNUSRB has released a thorough syllabus for SI posts for both papers. Part I contains a qualifying Tamil Eligibility Test whereas TNUSRB SI 2023 syllabus Part II is a general aptitude exam.

TNUSRB SI Exam Syllabus Paper I 2023 

The first part of the TNUSRB SI exam is the Tamil Eligibility Test. TNUSRB SI syllabus 2023 consists of topics relevant to the Tamil Language and its origins. This paper aims to test the candidate’s grammar, literature, and culture-relevant questions. Candidates can expect objective-type MCQ questions in this paper.

I. Paper I - Tamil Literary Test (Section A - Grammar):

பகுதி – அ இலக்கணம் 

1. எழுத்து இலக்கணம்: தமிழ் எழுத்துகளின் வககயும் ததொககயும், எழுத்துகளின் பிறப்பு, முததலழுத்துகள் and வகக, சொர்தபழுத்துகள் and வகக, புணர்ச்சி, தமொழி முதல், இறுதி எழுத்துகள், இன எழுத்துகள், சுட்டு எழுத்துகள், வினொ எழுத்துகள், மயங்தகொலிகள்.
2.  தசொல் இலக்கணம்: தபயர்ச்தசொல் and வகககள், விகனச்தசொல் and வகககள், இகைச்தசொல், உொிச்தசொல், இலக்கியவககச் தசொற்கள், வவற்றுகம, ஆகுதபயர், இரட்கைக்கிளவி, அடுக்குத்ததொைர், ஓதரழுத்து ஒருதமொழி, பகுபதம், பகொப்பதம், மூவகக தமொழிகள், வழக்கு.
3. தபொது இலக்கணம்: வழு, வழொ நிகல, வழுவகமதி, ததொககநிகலத் ததொைர், ததொகொநிகலத் ததொைர், வினொ, விகை வகககள், தபொருள்வகொள் and வகககள்.
4.  தபொருள் இலக்கணம்: அகப்தபொருள், புறப்தபொருள்.
5.  யொப்பு இலக்கணம்: யொப்பின் உறுப்புகள், அலகிடுதல், பொ வகக (தவண்பொ, ஆசிொியப்பொ தபொது இலக்கணம்).
6.  அணி இலக்கணம்: உவகம அணி, உருவக அணி, வஞ்சப்புகழ்ச்சி அணி, வவற்றுகம அணி, பின்வரு நிகலயணி and வகககள், பிறிது தமொழிதல் அணி, இரட்டுறதமொழிதல் அணி, தற்குறிப்வபற்ற அணி, தீவக அணி, நிரல்நிகற அணி.
7. தமொழித்திறன்: வல்லினம் மிகும் இைம், மிகொ இைம், ததொைர் இலக்கணம்.
8. பிொித்து எழுதுதல், வசர்த்து எழுதுதல், எதிர்ச்தசொல்கல எழுதுதல், தபொருந்தொச் தசொல்கல கண்ைறிதல், பிகழ திருத்தம், ஆங்கில தசொல்லுக்கு வநரொன தமிழ்ச் தசொல்கல அறிதல். 

II. Paper I - Tamil Literary Test (Section B - Literature)

பகுதி – ஆ இலக்கியம் 

திருக்குறள், ததொல்கொப்பியம், கம்பரொமொயணம், எட்டுத்ததொகக, பத்துப்பொட்டு, ஐம்தபருங்கொப்பியங்கள், ஐஞ்சிறுகொப்பியங்கள், அறநூல்கள், பக்தி இலக்கியங்கள், சிற்றிலக்கியங்கள், நொட்டுப்புற இலக்கியங்கள், புதுக்கவிகத, தமொழிதபயர்ப்பு நூல்கள் ஆகியகவ ததொைர்பொன தசய்திகள், வமற்வகொள்கள், சிறப்புப்தபயர்கள், ததொைகர நிரப்புதல். 

III. Paper I - Tamil Literary Test (Section C - Tamil Scholars and Culture)

பகுதி – இ தமிழ் அறிஞர்களும் தமிழ்த்ததொண்டும் 

தமிழ் அறிஞர்கள், தமிழின் ததொன்கம, தமிழொின் பண்பொடு, தமிழ் உகரநகை, தமிழ்த்ததொண்டு, சமுதொயத்ததொண்டு ததொைர்பொன தசய்திகள் மற்றும் வமற்வகொள்கள்.

TNUSRB SI Exam Syllabus Paper II 2023 

TNUSRB SI Syllabus 2023 consists of two sections: 1. General Knowledge and 2. Psychology test. Paper II consists of 140 objective-type questions with a .5 mark weightage. Both syllabi must be reviewed to understand any gaps and work on weak areas.

I. Paper II - Section A (General Knowledge)

1. General Science: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology viz. Inventions and Discoveries. Scientists and their Contributions, Human Physiology. Diseases and their Causes, Cure, and Prevention. Diet and Nutrition, Genetics, Animals, Plants. Environment and Ecology, Elements and Compounds. Acids, Bases and Salts and Allied Subjects. Properties of Matter, Light, Electricity, Moth, and other related topics. 
2. History: The Dates and Events in Indian History. Ideas of Indus Valley Civilisation to Present-Day Modern India. Important Events of World History.
3. Geography: Regions of India, Monsoon and Climate, Crops. Indian Towns and Places, Major Ports. Minerals, Industries, Power Plants. Forests and Wildlife, National Reserved and Parks, Population Distribution in India, and other related topics.
4. Economics: Agriculture in India, Industrial Development, Rural Development. Price Policy, Inflation, Population and Un-employment Problems. Imports and Export, 5-Year Planning. and related topics.
5. Indian Polity: Indian Constitution, Citizenship, Elections. Parliament and State legislatures, Executive, Judicial system, and Local Self Governments. The relationship between Centre and State. Foreign Policy, and more topics.
6. General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Latest Development and Revolutions in Science and Technology. Political Developments in India, Arts & Culture of India and Tamil Nadu. Games and Sports, National and International Awards. National and International Organizations, Abbreviations. The Important Who’s Who, Books and Authors. India and its Neighbouring Countries. Present Day India, and other related topics.

II. Paper II - Section B (Psychology Test)

1. Logical Analysis: Information analysis to find out various dimensions of information. 
2. Numerical Analysis: Speed with which applicants answer numerical questions.
3. Communication Skills: Effective use of Tamil & English languages.
4. Information Handling Ability: For given information, the aspects, results, and connections are tested.
5. Mental Ability: Applicant's inductive or deductive reasoning ability.

In addition to the above subjects, candidates who apply for Departmental Quota will have to study the Tamil Nadu SI exam syllabus for:

• Indian Penal Code
• Criminal Procedure Code
• Indian Evidence Act
• Police Standing Order and Police Administration

TNUSRB SI Exam Pattern 2023

The TNUSRB SI exam pattern 2023 has been highlighted below for the applicant’s reference. 

For Paper I, this section consists of the Tamil Eligibility Test.

• There are 100 questions. 
• They carry a weightage of 1 mark each, and students have to attempt them in 100 minutes (1 hour 40 mins). 
• Candidates must qualify with a minimum of 40% to be eligible for Paper II.
