UPSC CSAT exam pattern 2023 will be decided by the conducting authorities. Candidates preparing for the UPSC CSAT 2023 exam should check the UPSC CSAT 2023 Exam pattern and the subjects and the marking scheme of this exam to appear prepared and rank well in the examination.
UPSC CSAT Marking Scheme
- In the UPSC CSAT 2023 Exam there are two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.
- Both question papers are of objective type (multiple-choice questions).
- Paper-I comprises 100 questions with each question carrying 2 marks each while paper II has 80 questions with each question carrying 2.5 marks each.
- CSAT paper 2 consists of Basic numeracy numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. (Class X level)
- The questions for CSAT will be Multiple Choice Questions.
- There are four alternatives for answers to every question.
- The question papers are set in both Hindi and English.
- There is negative marking for incorrect answers for all questions
- If you give a wrong answer, one-third of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.
- It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the papers of the Civil Services (Prelim) Examination.
- The candidate will be disqualified in case he or she appears in only one paper of the (Prelim) Exam.
- So appearing in both the papers is mandatory for the evaluation of the (Prelims) Exam.
- The CSAT Paper 2 is only qualifying in nature i.e Candidate has to score at least 33 percent to qualify.
