The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a scholarship programme introduced by the NCERT to encourage students to continue their higher studies irrespective of their financial status. NTSE has been divided into two stages, state and national level, and students must clear stage 1 to be eligible for stage 2. NTSE registration 2023-24 will be processed through the official website of SCERT and NCERT. Students must fill out the NTSE registration form before the due date to be eligible for the exam.

NTSE Registration Process
NTSE 2023 registration process and NTSE registration dates differ for all states. Students can check the detailed procedure to apply for the NTSE examination of different states. Students can register for NTSE through their school or collect the NTSE form from the Liaison's office or apply online.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria
The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the NTSE exam is that students should have completed their 9th with a minimum of 50% marks in any of the recognized Indian boards. Also, students applying for the 10th exam or studying 10th can apply for the scholarship.
As NTSE is a two-stage exam, students have to satisfy the below eligibility criteria to write the NTSE exam at each level besides the standard eligibility.
Candidates Studying in India
Only students selected from the state-level examination (depending on quota) can appear for NTSE conducted by NCERT in mid-December every year (unless notified otherwise). Students can download the national level admit card from the online portal, containing all details and exam instructions.
NTSE State Level Examination
All students studying in class X in any recognised school can write the state-level NTSE examination. However, students can write the exam from any state, considering that every state has its eligibility criteria. Students registered under open and distance learning are also eligible for the exam, provided the student's age should not exceed 18 years.
NTSE National Level Examination
All students of Indian nationality studying in class X are eligible to write the exam even outside India. Students also have to check eligibility criteria depending on where they study.
Candidates Studying Abroad
Students of Indian nationality studying abroad at the class 10 level may also compete for the talent search award.
Awards for candidates studying abroad are offered under the following conditions given below.
- Students with Indian nationality studying abroad are exempt from the state-level examination and can sit directly for the national-level exam conducted by NCERT.
- Students should have a minimum of 60% marks in the previous examination (IX) to write the exam.
- Students should travel to India and to the city where their exam centre is. No monetary support will be provided to travel to the centre of examination.
- Students should send a request through the head of the institution they are studying. Students should attest a copy of the 9th mark sheet to the Head, Department of Educational Survey Division, NCERT, New Delhi-110016. The request should be reached within 31st December of the concerned year.
- The council shall allot roll numbers to the eligible candidates and inform them about the examination date, time, venue, and other relevant instructions.
- The centre for the exam will not be changed once decided unless the reason is genuine.
- Scholarships can only be availed if the student studies further in India.

NTSE Registration Through School
Students are introduced to the examination at the school, and the school takes responsibility for the NTSE form. They distribute the application form to students and guide them in filling it. Then they submit it to the local Liaison's Office.

The candidate can also obtain the application form from the Liaison Office at the respective state or Union Territory. Then they can fill out the application form and submit it at Liaison's office.
How to Fill out the NTSE Online Registration Form?
Candidates can also apply for NTSE 2023 by filling out the NTSE online form. The procedure to fill out the NTSE online form is mentioned below.
Step 1: Registration
Candidates can visit the official website and click on "Apply for NTSE 2023". Then they should enter details like their name, date of birth (DOB), mobile number, email id, educational 1ualification, etc.
Step 2: Application Form Download
After registering on the official website, students can download the application form.
Step 3: Fill out the Application Form
Now fill in the application with your details. Students should remember that only they have to fill the application form in their handwriting. Fill in the necessary information and then attach a passport size photograph and then sign the application form.
Step 4: Attestation
Once the student has filled out the National Talent Search Examination application form details, they must get their school Principal's signature.
Step 5: Application Fee Payment
Candidates must pay the application fee in cash in the name of the State Liaison Office. The NTSE application fee will vary for different states.
Step 6: Submit
Candidates can send their NTSE application form 2023 to the respective Liaison's office or submit it personally.
