Oasis Scholarship 2023: Last Date, Status, Eligibility, Rewards, Apply

Oasis scholarship, initiated by the Department of Tribal Development and the Backward Classes Welfare Department of West Bengal, enables students from the SC/ST and OBC categories to pursue their education. The scholarship is exclusively available to West Bengal domiciles. The candidates can apply for the WB Oasis scholarship online through the official portal. Besides the Oasis scholarship, the West Bengal government provides other scholarships for minorities, merit students and others. The last date to apply for the scholarship scheme was January 15, 2023.

 Oasis Scholarship List

Candidates from the SC/ST and OBC categories can apply for the pre-matric and post-matric Oasis scholarships. The list of WB Oasis scholarship 2023 is as follows:

• Pre-matric scholarship for SC students
• Pre-matric scholarship for ST students
• Oasis post-matric scholarship for SC/ST students
• Oasis post-matric scholarship for OBC students

Oasis Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The West Bengal domiciles who meet the requirements can apply for the Oasis scholarship. The objective is to motivate underprivileged children aspiring to study higher. Listed below are the Oasis scholarship eligibility criteria for pre-matric and post-matric schemes. 

Scholarship	Eligibility Criteria
Pre-Matric Oasis Scholarship	They should belong to the SC or ST category. Students of classes IX and X can apply for the Oasis scholarship. The family income should not exceed INR 2,00,000 per annum.
Post-Matric Oasis Scholarship	They should belong to the SC/ST or OBC category. Students of class XI to the postgraduate level can apply for the Oasis scholarship. The family income of the SC/ST students should not exceed INR 2,50,000 per annum. The family income of the OBC category students should not exceed INR 1,00,000 per annum.

Oasis Scholarship Rewards

The SC/ST and OBC students benefit from the Oasis government scholarship schemes. The selected candidates, both day scholars and hostellers, receive the Oasis scholarship amount.

Pre-Matric Oasis Scholarship

The SC and ST students who have applied to the pre-matric scholarship will receive the Oasis scholarship amount for ten months. The Oasis scholarship amount list for the SC and ST pre-matric candidates is as follows:

Post-Matric Oasis Scholarship for SC/ST Students

The selected SC/ST category students will receive awards according to the course level. Given below are the Oasis scholarship West Bengal rewards for post-matric SC students.

Day Scholars	INR 550 as a maintenance allowance every month. Students pursuing medical, engineering, BSc in agriculture, MPhil, PhD and LLM courses will receive INR 550 per month. BPharm, LLB, BSc in nursing, hotel management and postgraduate students will receive an Oasis scholarship of INR 530 per month. Graduate-level students will receive INR 300 per month. Class XI, Class XII, polytechnic and ITI students will receive INR 230 per month.
Hostellers	INR 1,200 as a maintenance allowance every month. Students pursuing medical, engineering, BSc in agriculture, MPhil, PhD and LLM courses will receive INR 1,200 per month. BPharm, LLB, BSc in nursing, hotel management and postgraduate students will receive INR 820 per month. Graduate-level students will receive INR 750 per month. Class XI, Class XII, polytechnic and ITI students will receive INR 750 per month.

Post-Matric Oasis OBC Scholarship

The candidates applying for the Oasis OBC scholarship will receive the following benefits:

Scholarship	Rewards
Day Scholars	INR 350 as a maintenance allowance every month. Students pursuing medical, engineering, BSc in agriculture, MPhil, PhD and LLM courses will receive INR 350 per month. Students pursuing BPharm, LLB, BSc in nursing, hotel management and postgraduate courses will receive an Oasis scholarship of INR 335 per month. Graduate-level will receive INR 210 per month. Class XI, Class XII, polytechnic and ITI students will receive INR 160 per month.
Hostellers	INR 750 as a maintenance allowance every month. OBC students pursuing medical, engineering, BSc in agriculture, MPhil, PhD and LLM courses will receive INR 750 per month. BPharm, LLB, BSc in nursing, hotel management and postgraduate courses will receive an Oasis scholarship of INR 510 per month. Graduate-level will receive INR 400 per month. Class XI, Class XII, polytechnic and ITI students will receive INR 260 per month.

How to Apply for Oasis Scholarship?

The candidates can obtain the Oasis online application for the scholarship through the Oasis scholarship official website. First-time applicants should register themselves on the portal. Upon registration, they will receive the Oasis login scholarship credentials. The candidates can apply for their desired scholarship using their credentials. Students who want to renew the Oasis West Bengal scholarship form need not register again. 

How to Register for Oasis Scholarship?

The candidates should register by selecting the location of their permanent address and providing a few details. The steps for the Oasis scholarship new registration are as follows:

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the official West Bengal Oasis scholarship portal.

Step 2 - They should click on the student's registration tab.

Step 3 - Next, they should choose their location in West Bengal.

Step 4 - The candidates should fill in the Oasis student scholarship details and click the submit button.

Step 5 - The candidates can view their registration details on the screen.

Step 6 - They should save the Oasis login scholarship credentials and not share the details with anybody.

How to Login to WB Oasis Scholarship?

After submitting the registration form, the candidates will obtain a user ID and password. They can download the login credentials by clicking the 'download login information/acknowledgment slip' tab. The steps to log in are as follows:

Step 2 - they should click on the 'registered student's login' tab.

Step 3- The candidates should visit the official Oasis scholarship portal.

Note: The students' registered location will appear in the Oasis scholarship login window.

Oasis Scholarship Application Process

The Oasis scholarship application process is submitted online and offline. After the candidates log in to the WB Oasis scholarship portal, they can apply for their desired scholarship by filling in the details and proving their bank information. The Oasis scholarship application's last date is January 15th, 2023. The steps to apply for the Oasis online scholarship are as follows:

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the official Oasis scholarship portal.

Step 2 - The candidates should log into the portal by entering their user ID and password.

Step 3 - After logging into the portal, the candidates can click on the 'apply' option.

Step 4 - The candidates can view the WB Oasis scholarship form.

Step 5 - They should fill in the details, provide their bank information and click on 'save and proceed'.

Step 6 - The candidates should double-check the information provided and click on the 'verify and lock' button.

Note: The candidates cannot modify the Oasis scholarship application form after clicking on 'verify and lock'. 

Step 7 - After locking the information, the candidates should print out the Oasis scholarship online form by clicking the download application form button.

Step 8 - The candidates should attach the copies of supporting documents to the Oasis scholarship form and submit it to the concerned Block Development Officer (BDO) for block area or PO cum DWO for municipality corporation. 

How to Renew Oasis Scholarship?

The candidates can renew their scholarships by logging into the Oasis scholarship portal using their previous user ID and password. The WB Oasis scholarship renewal process is similar to the application procedure. The candidates can refer to these steps to know how to renew the Oasis scholarship:

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the official WB Oasis scholarship portal.

Step 2 - They should click on the 'renew scholarship' tab available on the Oasis scholarship home page.

Step 3 - The candidates should enter their user ID, password, CAPTCHA, and click on 'login'.

Step 4 - Their previous year's application form will appear on the screen. The candidates can modify the details if required.

Step 5 - After verifying the details, the candidates can click on 'renew application'.

Step 6 - They should provide the current academic year's information.

Step 7 - Now, the candidates should click on 'renew and lock application'.

Note: They cannot edit the details on the Oasis scholarship renewal application form after locking it.

Step 8 - They should download the renewal application form, attach copies of documents required for Oasis scholarship and submit it to the Block Development Office (BDO) for block area or PO cum DWO for municipality corporation.

How to Access the Oasis Scholarship Track Status Feature?

The fresh and Oasis scholarship renewal applicants can check the scholarship status by providing their details on the portal. The candidates can follow these steps to track the Oasis scholarship status:

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the Oasis scholarship portal.

Step 2 - They should click on the 'track an application' button to know the Oasis scholarship status check.

Step 3 - The candidates should fill in the details such as user ID, the applied district, academic year and CAPTCHA.

Step 4 - After providing these details, they should click on the 'check status' button. 

Documents Required for Oasis Scholarship

The candidates should ensure that the details on the records are accurate and authenticated. They should submit it with the application/renewal form to the concerned office. The documents required for Oasis scholarship are as follows:

• Passport size photographs
• Caste certificate
• Birth certificate
• Mark sheets of the previous qualifying examination
• Copy of their aadhaar card or any other government ID with the candidate's picture and address proof
• Income certificate issued by the competent authorities
• Copy of bank passbook containing the bank's name, branch, IFSC code, account number and beneficiary's name
