- Before choosing any BPSC optional subjects, candidates must be fully aware of the complete syllabus of that subject. Candidates can visit the official website of BPSC and download the syllabus to get acquainted with the topics they have to cover to get a clear understanding of the subject.
- Candidates must know that each subject requires a different time that is required for the preparation of that optional subject, so they should choose their BPSC optional subjects wisely.
- Also apart from this, candidates must also take their educational background into account. If a candidate has a degree in any of the subjects listed in their graduation or postgraduation, so they should choose an optional subject that aligns with the subject from their degree to save time and provide familiarity with the subject.

BPSC Eligibility Criteria 2024
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the eligibility criteria for the BPSC 2024 exam through an official notification on its website. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification before applying for the BPSC exam.
Age Limit:
- The minimum age limit is 18 years for all candidates.
- The upper age limit is 37 years for general male candidates, 40 years for general female and OBC candidates, and 42 years for SC and ST candidates.
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must be a graduate Degree from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification.
Nationality:
- Candidates must be a citizen of India and should have valid proof of citizenship.
- The candidate should be a permanent resident of India and have government-issued documents as proof of their residency.

BPSC Exam Pattern 2024
BPSC examination is conducted in three phases preliminary, mains followed by the interview stage which are discussed below:
- The Prelims Exam will be of a total of 150 marks, with 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 marks deducted for the wrong answer.
- Mains examination will comprise 5 papers which are GS I, GS II, Essay, General Hindi, and Optional Paper.
- The total marks for the mains examination is 900 which will include GS I, GS II, and Essay Paper and will be counted in merit formation.
- The other two papers will be only in qualifying nature ie. General Hindi, and Optional Paper.

- Now, click on the "Online Registration" option available on the homepage.
- Next, complete the application form with your personal information and create your login credentials.
- Login using the registered email address and the password created.
- Complete the payment of the application form fees for the BPSC exam.
- Once the payment is done, log in again and fill in the required educational details in the application form.
- Upload the relevant documents as per the guidelines and in the specified format.
