Sachin and Binny Bansal

Sachin and Binny are entrepreneurs. Best known for co-founding Flipkart in 2007, they are both alumni of IIT Delhi (2005). Though not related, they both hailed from Chandigarh and worked for Amazon after graduation. However, they rose to fame after their e-commerce venture Flipkart became an astounding success. During their 11 year careers at Flipkart, before its acquisition by Walmart, Sachin served as company CEO and Executive Chairman while Binny was the COO and later CEO. Their venture changed the face of the Indian digital market and also inspired many other startups. 

Sachin and Binny became an aspiration for many due to their meteoric rise to fame and unprecedented success. Even after quitting Flipkart, they remain entrepreneurs and investors, with Sachin having founded Navi Technologies and Binny being an Angel investor. They were named in the Forbes list of Richest Indians and the Most Influential Indians placing in the top 100.

Vinod Khosla

An Indian American billionaire businessman and venture capitalist, Vinod Khosla is the co-founder of Sun Microsystems and the founder of Khosla Ventures. In 2020, he placed number 353 on the Forbes 400 list of the richest persons in America. He served as CEO of Sun Microsystem before retiring as a venture capitalist. His firm Khosla Ventures manages approximately $5 billion worth of investor capital and has several notable members such as Tony Blair, a former Prime Minister of Britain.

He has a net worth of $2.8 Billion and is a supporter of GiveIndia. He has recently pledged $10 Million towards helping India combat the Covid-19 pandemic and the critical deficit of oxygen cylinders. Vinod is a self-made man who built his empire from scratch. Famous for his knack for an unconventional approach towards technology and business. He recently came to IIT Delhi in 2019 to speak to and inspire students by narrating his fond memories and experiences in IIT Delhi and the business world.

Raghuram Rajan

The former Chief Economic Adviser to the government of India and 23rd governor of RBI needs little introduction to any. He is perhaps one of the most brilliant financial minds globally and was the Chief Economist as well as Director of Research at IMF. Rajan is presently teaching finance as a distinguished professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has cemented his place in the world's Most Influential Economists and has been extensively interviewed about his ideas and policies regarding many international financial issues.

Rajan also pursued an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and later attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also known for his many research papers and books, such as Fault Lines: How Hidden Fractures Still Threaten the World Economy, which won the Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award.

Deepinder Goyal

Even among the distinguished student body of IIT Delhi, Deepinder Goyal is still a name that resounds mightily. The founder and CEO of the well-known and beloved food giant Zomato, Deepinder, has truly incorporated the idea of good food, good life. Under his brilliant leadership skills, Zomato has grown into a company synonymous with food in over 500+ cities in India. Over 70 million people use Zomato to decide where to eat through 1.5 million listed restaurants across 24 countries worldwide.

Before founding Zomato in 2008, Deepinder Goyal was hired as a management consultant by Bain & Company. Zomato is empowering people to experience food better and also simplifying restaurant SCM. It has tackled hunger at the grass-root level and is a leading proponent of sustainability as well. Chetan Bhagat

Chetan Bhagat is an author, a columnist, and a motivational speaker in his spare time. He worked as an investment banker for nearly a decade for Goldman Sachs and wrote one of his most popular books, "Five Point Someone", during that time. He focused full-time on his writing career after that. He is the author of seven novels: Five Point Someone, One Night at the Call Center, The 3 Mistakes of My Life, 2 States, Revolution 2020, Half Girlfriend, One Indian Girl, and two non-fiction books: What Young India Wants and Making India Awesome.

All the books have become national bestsellers since their release. Five of his books have Bollywood adaptations with extremely popular films like Kai Po Che!, 2 States, three idiots, Half Girlfriend, and Hello. Time magazine rated him among the ‘100 most influential people in the world', and he was also given a place in the Fast Company, USA's ‘100 most creative people in business.

Yashish Dahiya

Yashish Dahiya is the CEO and co-founder of Policybazaar.com. Policybazaar helps consumers choose and buy insurance, with over 100 million visitors a year. His firm is the largest digital distributor of insurance in the country. Not long ago, Yashish received the EY Entrepreneur of The Year (EOY) 2019 award in the Financial Services category. 

Dahiya studied electrical engineering from IIT Delhi, following which he pursued MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. After that, he started working for Illinois Tool Works and Bain & Company in management roles. Instead of college placements, he gave private tuitions at home. He also happens to be the Indian masters swimming champion, holds the 3rd fastest half Ironman (Cycling competition) timing and the 5th fastest Ironman timings amongst Indians across all age groups.

Kiran Bedi

Kiran Bedi was the former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. She is a politician, a social activist, a famously retired police officer, and a national tennis player. The first Indian woman to become an officer in the IPS (Police Service), she has been an awarded member for her actions. The Ramon Magsaysay Award 1994 was given to her during her postings to the Delhi Prisons as Inspector General (IG). Her reforms at this time, in the Tihar jail, netted her worldwide appreciation and acclaim.

She has authored numerous books. She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the ruling party of India, in 2015. She was a national champion in her career as a tennis player led her to be part of the team that beat Sri Lanka at Colombo. Bedi is one of India's most acclaimed Police officers and was cited for her unblemished record on many occasions. However, her refusal to bend the law even for high-ranking individuals earned her the envy of her peers and the enmity of her superiors.
