JoSAA Seat Matrix 2024: Total Seats, Previous Years 2023, 2022, 2021

JoSAA seat matrix 2024 was published by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority on its official website on June 10, 2024. It provides the details of seats available in various IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs for various categories including General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.

JoSAA seat matrix 2024: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority has released the JoSAA Seat Matrix which provides the details of the total seats available for the upcoming session in various courses for different categories at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs. According to it, the total seats available for IITs are 17740, NITs are 24229, and IIITs are 8546.

The candidate can check the detailed information of JoSAA seat matrix 2024 on its official website i.e. https://josaa.nic.in/seat-matrix/. The JoSAA seat matrix is used to determine the eligibility of the candidate for the desired course and college.

JoSAA Seat Matrix 2024

JoSAA released its seat matrix after the announcement of the JEE Main and JEE Advanced results. The JoSAA Seat Matrix 2024 helps the candidates make choices of their preferred colleges and courses according to the cutoffs and the total seats available.

Steps for JoSAA Counselling 2024

The score or percentile, of JEE Main and JEE Advanced decides the JoSAA seat matrix and allotment. After that, the seats are allotted to the candidates, and if they are willing to let go of the seats, they can do so. Usually, there are six rounds of JoSAA counselling. As of now, authorities have released JoSAA round 1 seat allotment 2024 on Jun 30, 2024.

Suppose a candidate gets a seat far from his place and is unwilling to relocate; they can leave the seat and sit for the next round. Other than that, the seats are vacated by candidates due to their need for a seat in their desired college or course. The process of JoSAA counseling in 2024 is as follows:

Step 3	Mock Seat Allotment	JoSAA conducts two mock seat allotments, out of which the candidate can choose the one that suits them more.
Step 4	Locking seats	The candidate can lock a seat by their own otherwise it will automatically be locked by the system that fits the candidates scores.
Step 5	Seat Allotment	JoSAA conducts multiple rounds of seat allotment based on JEE Main/Advanced rank, category, availability of seats, and preferences filled by the candidate.
Step 6	Acceptance of seat	The candidate must secure their seats by paying the required fees.
Step 7	Document Verification and taking admission.	The candidate must visit the selected college for document verification and other formalities and confirm their admission.
