The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) conduct the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST). NISER courses after 12th can be applied by candidates who have passed their 12th class examination having Science as a stream.

Five-year M.Sc. Programme at NISER and UM DAE CEBS

What is NEST Exam?
The full form of NEST is National Entrance Screening Test. It is a national-level entrance exam which offers admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc Program at the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar and the Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, University of Mumbai. The exam is conducted by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER).

NEST Eligibility Criteria 2024
Certain eligibility criteria exist for candidates appearing for the National Entrance Screening Test. Candidates must ensure they meet the NEST eligibility criteria; otherwise, they can be disqualified from the further admission process
- The candidate’s nationality must be Indian.
- Candidates must have passed their 12th class examination from a recognised board.
- Candidates who passed their 12th class examination in the year 2023 are eligible.
- Candidates must have Science stream in classes 11th and 12th with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects along with Biology or Mathematics
- A minimum of 60% aggregate marks are required in the 12th class examination.
- For reserved category candidates, a minimum of 55% aggregate marks are required in the 12th class examination.
