• The JEST 2025 exam will be conducted on February 23, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for the MSc, PhD, and Integrated PhD programs in Physics, Theoretical Computer Science, Neuroscience, and Computational Biology. Applications will be initiated in January 2025. Fees: SC/ST, EWS, differently-abled, and general female candidates : INR 475 Others : INR 950 SC/ST Female applicants are exempted.

National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) is in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. NISER Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the institute's eligibility criteria to be eligible for admission to the UG, PG and doctoral courses at NISER Bhubaneshwar. Below are the eligibility criteria for different courses.

B.Sc+M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

• The students must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics.
• The students must appear for the NEST examination.

M.Sc+PhD Eligibility Criteria

• The students must have passed graduation from a recognised board/university with 55% marks.
• The students must have appeared in NEST/CSIR-UGC-NET/GATE//JEST/GPAT/DBT/ICMR/JGEEBILS exams.

PhD Eligibility Criteria

• The students must have passed postgraduation with 50% marks from a recognised board/university.
• The students must have a valid score in the CSIR-UGC-NET exam.

NISER Cutoff

NISER Bhubaneswar cutoff is based on the score of the NEST (National Entrance Screening Test) - for the Integrated MSc. Cutoff marks for the NEST are usually 80-90 for the (General/Ews). IIT’s JEST (Joint Entrance Screening Test) or JAM (Joint Admission Test) entrance examination is conducted for admission to Integrated Msc+Ph.D. Admission to PhD programs is based on overall performance and marks received in any of the National Level Eligibility Tests such as NET, ICMR, ICAR, DBT, and GATE.
