Top 10 Engineering Colleges Under JNTUH: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has 199 engineering colleges, 72 pharmacy colleges, and 20 MCA/MBA independent colleges dispersed throughout Telangana State. It now has a total of about 3.50 lakh students enrolled.

Qualifying Marks for Engineering Colleges under JNTUH

To be eligible for admission to the top 10 engineering colleges under JNTUH candidates must get the required marks and achieve a proper rank in the respective entrance exams. Students will be admitted to various participating colleges for undergraduate courses based on the TS EAMCET scores. 

The TS EAMCET qualifying marks are published on the authority's official website. In general, the minimum marks required are 25% of the total marks, or 40 out of 160. Candidates from non-SC/ST categories must earn at least 25% of the maximum marks in the TS EAMCET, according to JNTUH guidelines. There is no minimum passing grade for SC/ST applicants.

To be admitted to postgraduate courses and institutes, candidates must score within the range of the TS PGECET cutoff. The TS PGECET seat allocation is based on the marks obtained by candidates in TS PGECET or GATE. To qualify for the TS PGECET exam, candidates must score at least 30 out of 120.

JNTUH Eligibility Criteria

JNTUH Admission Process

Each year, the university follows a predetermined admissions process. Before starting the admission process students must meet the eligibility and selection criteria mentioned above.  JNTUH admissions process includes an application process, shortlisting of candidates, merit list release, counseling, and seat allocation. The specific steps for admissions to the top 10 engineering colleges under JNTUH are as follows:

Step 1: Fill out the JNTUH Application Form

The JNTUH application process is carried out online. Candidates must apply for courses such as M. Tech, PhD, and so on through the university's official website. However, for courses such as BTech, MBA, MCA, etc., candidates must apply on the website of the official authority administering the entrance test.

Step 2: Short-listing of Candidates and Release of Merit List

JNTUH selects candidates based on their performance in the entrance exams such as TS EAMCET, GATE, and GPAT. Following this, the authorities provide course-specific merit lists, such as the TS ICET for MBA and MCA. However, the university publishes its own merit list for courses in which admission is based on merit or national-level exams.

Step 3: Counselling Process

After the merit list is released, selected students are contacted for counseling sessions. The TSCHE, also known as TS ICET Counselling, conducts counselling sessions for MBA and MCA courses. Similarly, for admission to the BTech courses, TS EAMCET Counselling is held by the universities. At this stage candidates must present all the necessary documents for verification to be granted a seat at the institute of their choice.

Step 4: Seat Allocation and Admission Confirmation

After all the documents have successfully been verified by the institute authorities seats are granted to eligible students. Furthermore, eligible students may confirm their admission by paying the course fees.
