NMMS is the national scholarship exam conducted by the MHRD. Though the exam pattern and the organising body is the same, the exam papers differ for each state. SCERT releases the state-wise NMMS scholarship registration form online. For the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS), the students in standard 8th with family income less than INR 1.5 Lakhs are eligible to apply. The candidates should complete the registration process of NMMS before applying for the exam. The authorities will reject incomplete or incorrect details on the registration form. They will accept the form only up to the specified date.
Through NPS, the candidates who wish to take the scholarship test must apply online for NMMS. All aspirants need to meet the prescribed eligibility criteria for registration by the officials. Eligibility to Apply for NMMS Scholarship
The candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria specified by the authority. Any aspirant found ineligible will be disqualified. Check below the NMMS eligibility criteria-
- In the class 8 examination or equivalent, the aspirants must have secured a minimum of 55% (general/SEBC category) and 50% (reserved category-SC/ST/PH).
- The candidates must be in class 8.

Online Application
To apply online for NMMS, the candidates should follow the steps below:
Step 1: Registration
- They should visit the official website of NSP.
- They should click on 'new registration.'
- Next, the applicants should enter their name, email-id, date of birth, etc.
- They will now receive a registered number and an OTP on their registered mobile number.
- They should enter the OTP to complete the registration process.
- The system will generate the candidate's login credentials.

Step 2: Fill in the Application Form
- The applicants should enter the educational details, bank detail, and aadhaar numbers.
- They should scan and upload the required documents such as income proof, domicile certificate, etc.
Step 3: Review the Details
- The candidates should submit the application form and should check the filled details before submitting it.
Step 4: Pay the Application Fee
- Next, the candidates should choose the online payment mode.
- They should make the transaction.
- After making the transaction, they should download the payment slip.
Offline Application
To apply for NMMS in the offline mode, the aspirants can follow the simple three steps mentioned below:
Step 1: The candidates should get the NMMS application form in offline mode from their respective schools.
Step 2: They should print the NMMS application form and fill the details carefully in capital letters.
Step 3: The NMMS application form must be submitted to the head of the institute/school. They should attach the duly attested copies of the relevant documents such as state domicile, income proof, caste certificate, mark sheets, along with the application form.
Documents Required for NMMS Scholarships
Necessary documents should be attached to the application form by the candidates while applying for the NMMS scholarship. The officials will provide the list of the documents online. - The candidates should submit the disability status certificate from the competent authority (if applicable).
- Income certificate not exceeding INR 1.50 Lakhs per annum from the competent authority.
- Photocopy of the mark sheets of the last qualifying exams.

NMMS Application Fee
