The state government launched the MahaDBT aaple sarkar portal to benefit the students domiciled in Maharashtra. It is an online application with several post-matric scholarship schemes. The students who are domiciles or permanent residents of Maharashtra can apply to these scholarships through the official portal. Those selected will receive the MahaDBT scholarship amount directly from the government.
What is MahaDBT Scholarship?
The MahaDBT aaple sarkar is an online scholarship portal initiated by the Maharashtra government. The candidates can apply for the post-matric scholarships and receive the benefits directly to their bank account through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system. Besides scholarships, MahaDBT portal also offers other services for the people of Maharashtra. The candidates will receive an SMS on their registered mobile number once the provider transfers the MahaDBT scholarship funds to their bank account.

MahaDBT Scholarship Important Date
Interested candidates domiciled in Maharashtra and belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category can apply to the Government of India Post-matric Scheme on the MahaDBT portal. However, they should submit their applications by April 30, 2024.

- Candidates should have an annual income not exceeding INR 2,50,000.
- They should belong to the SC or Navbouddha category.
- Students should choose only two professional courses under this scheme.
Tuition Fee and Examination Fee
- The candidates should have completed the SSC course.
- They should be pursuing a professional course in an institution located in Maharashtra.
Professional Courses

- The students in classes XI and XII can apply.

Minority Development Department
The state government offers financial aid to deserving candidates domiciled in the state and belonging to the minority community. The applicants should ensure the family income is not more than INR 8,00,000 per annum. Additionally, they should fulfill the following requirements:
Higher and Professional Courses (DTE)
- The students should have at least 50% attendance.
- They should have enrolled through CAP.
- The students should be pursuing a professional or technical course.
For Minority Students (DMER)
- Candidates should be pursuing a medical course affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Science in Nashik.
Minority Development Department Rewards
The minorities in the state will receive the following MahaDBT scholarship amount:
For Higher and Professional Courses (DTE)
- Up to INR 25,000 per annum or actual tuition fee (whichever is less).
For Minority Students (DMER)

How to Apply for MahaDBT Scholarship?
The Maharashtra government offers several post-matric scholarships through the MahaDBT portal. It's an online application launched for the permanent residents of Maharashtra. However, the applicants should have an aadhaar number to apply. The application for the MahaDBT scholarships involves four steps. They are:
- Registration
- MahaDBT Login
- Creating User Profile
- Applying for MahaDBT Scholarship
The institute will send back the MahaDBT scholarship forms if there are errors. Hence, the candidates are requested to double-check the information before making the final submission.
Step 1: MahaDBT Scholarship Registration
- The candidates should visit the official MahaDBT portal.
- Next, they should check on the post-matric scholarship button available on the right side of the screen.
- Following that, the applicants should click on the new applicant registration button.
- They should duly fill in the details and verify the OTP obtained by mail and mobile number.
- Lastly, they should click on the register button.
Step 2 - MahaDBT Login
After successful registration, the candidates will obtain the MahaDBT login credentials. The system will automatically generate the credentials and send them to the registered mobile number and email ID. The candidates should note the MahaDBT login details for further use.
Step 3 - Creating User Profile
The candidates can log in to their portal and create the user profile after completing the MahaDBT scholarship login process:
- The candidates should duly fill in the details such as personal, domicile, academics, bank and others.
- They must click on the save button after filling in the details.
Step 4 - Apply for MahaDBT Scheme
- After creating the profile, the candidates can view a list of the MahaDBT scholarship schemes.
