OJEE MBBS Counselling 2024: Dates, Procedure

OJEE MBBS Counselling is conducted for candidates who are eligible for admission to MBBS considering their NEET Scores. OJEE counselling for MBBS will commence after the results are announced by the official authorities.

OJEE MBBS Counselling will start in July 2024 tentatively. The students will be able to check the seat allotment details of Round 1, 2 and 3 on the dates mentioned respectively. Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is responsible for conducting Odisha MBBS Counselling. Candidates are supposed to register for the counselling and it will be conducted in two phases.

Eligibility Criteria for OJEE MBBS Counselling

The applicants must meet up the eligibility criteria to attend the counselling. OJEE has set certain eligibility criteria for the candidates willing to pursue MBBS after NEET in Odisha. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria only will be eligible to attend the counselling session. The eligibility criteria are mentioned below.

Applicants belonging to the General Category must have a minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in class 12th.
Applicants belonging to the SC/ST category should have a minimum of 40% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in class 12th.
Apart from the aggregate percentile mentioned above candidates are expected to pass each subject separately.
Applicants must have completed at least 17 years of age.
Applicants should be Indian.
The applicant’s parents should be a native of Odisha state and present the resident/ nativity certificate during document verification.

OJEE Counselling Procedures

OJEE counselling for MBBS is carried out under strict supervision and specifications. Candidates are expected to follow the procedures laid down by the conducting authorities. Candidates can refer to the steps given below to know about counselling procedures.

Step 1: Registration
- Candidates are advised to register themselves for the OJEE MBBS counselling session immediately after registration begins.
- Candidates should log in to the official website of OJEE.
- Candidates can use the login credentials used at the time of application for OJEE MBBS counselling registration.

Step 2: Filling Details
- Candidates should fill in all the details required at the time of registration.
- Candidates are supposed to select the course and the college they are aiming for.
- Candidates are expected to confirm and lock their choices before the last date.

Step 3: Fee Payment
- Candidates should pay a fee of INR 400 through online modes such as debit/ credit card or net banking.
- The registration will be complete only after the payment of the fees.

Step 5: Document Verification
- Applicants should refer to the documents required at the time of counselling and keep them ready beforehand to avoid any sort of confusion.
- Candidates are required to submit their documents for OJEE MBBS counselling at certain selected centres for verification.
- Candidates who pass the document verification will only be considered eligible for admission to MBBS at colleges in Odisha.

Step 6: OJEE Counselling Results
- Applicants who have successfully completed their document verification and counselling procedure can check their results online once they are published by the OJEE.
- The results will be published on the official website of OJEE.

Step 7: Seat Allotment
- Candidates will be allotted seats at their preferred colleges based on their ranks, counselling results, seat availability and reservation criteria.
- Candidates should download their admission letter from the website before reporting to the college.
- Candidates who are content and pleased with the allotted course and college can freeze their seats by submitting the required documents and paying the admission fee to the allotted college.
- Candidates willing to go through the next phase of counselling to try different colleges can opt for the ‘Float’ option.
- Applicants opting for the float option will be attending the next counselling to opt for a seat in other colleges considering their ranks and availability of seats.

How to Check OJEE MBBS Counselling Results

The counselling results for OJEE MBBS will be released by OJEE on the official website. Candidates will be allotted seats based on merit. The seat allocation will also be published on the website. Candidates can follow the below steps to check their counselling status.

Step 1: Candidates should visit the official website of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE), ojee.nic.in
Step 2: Candidates should go to the 'Current Event' section or any suitable link on the homepage.

Step 4: Candidates should enter the OJEE application number, password, and security pin to log in.
Step 5: Check for the round 1 seat allotment result and click on the ‘Freeze’ option if the candidate is satisfied with the results.
Step 6: Candidates can click on 'Submit' and take a printout of the submitted form.
