The TS Board Class 12th grading system follows a 4-point grading, ranging from A to D. The grades A are the highest and D are the lowest, representing failure in Telangana State Board Class 12th.

The grading system of TS Board class 12th is based on the aggregate marks of both academic sessions of Class 11th and 12th. The overall marks are counted from 1000 considering 10 subjects. Students should score above passing marks in both classes to be considered TS Board class 12th pass.

Telangana State Board inter examinations will be held in February 2025 for the academic session 2024-2025. TS Board Inter results will be declared in April 2025 on its official website. The details of the TS Board class 12th grading system are shared below.

TS Board Class 12th Grading System 

TS Board Class 12th grading system consists of 4 grades ranging from A to D. There is no grade below D and it is considered a Fail. TS Board class 12th 4-point grading system has been developed based on exam overall scores and percentages.

Grade Points refer to the numbers from 4 to 1, denoting different grades and aggregate marks of TS Board Class 12th subjects. Students require a minimum of 1 grade point or 35% to pass the Telangana State Board inter examinations.

How to Calculate Percentage from TS Board Class 12th Grades?

Students can easily calculate percentages from TS Board class 12th grades by the given steps and instructions below:

  • Step 1: First the scores of all subjects will be added for both theory and practicals. For example, History (theory + practical marks) + Political science (theory + practical marks) + English (theory + practical marks) etc.
  • Step 2: After adding the scores of subjects, the obtained number will be divided by the total scores of subjects multiplied by a hundred per cent. For example: there are a total of 5 subjects each of 100 marks so the added score of subjects will be divided by 500 multiplied by 100%. 
  • Step 3: After dividing and multiplying, whatever the score is obtained will be in percentage form. This percentage is the overall percentage achieved in TS Board Class 12th examinations.
  • Step 4: Students can now use the TS Board class 12th grading system chart given above to match the obtained percentage with the appropriate grade. For example: If the percentage received after calculations is 75% then the grade will be A and the division will be first. 

If a student has grades but doesn't know the percentage then the above steps will be followed to calculate the percentage.

Important Pointers for TS Board Class 12th Grading System

There are a few key points to remember about the TS Board Class 12th grading system which are given below:

  • TS Board Class 12th grading system is based on total marks of both academic sessions of class 11th and class 12th. 
  • There is no grade awarded for failure to students in Telangana State Board Class 12th. 
  • The grades of students will be mentioned in the scorecard or marksheet of students of TS Board Class 12th along with subject marks of both class 11th and class 12th. 
  • The subjects have to be the same in both years of study. 
  • TS Board Class 12th grading system identifies a minimum of 35% marks required to pass the examinations.

TS Board Class 12th Marking Scheme 

The Telangana State Board Class 12th marking scheme has no negative markings in any subject or question type. The marks awarded for different question types will depend on the question and the subject. There are three different types of questions asked in TS Board class 12th including, very short, short and long questions.

The word limit of these also varies for different subjects. There are several exams which have two language mediums to answer including English and Telugu. There are several subjects which have an overall score of 100 and many have 80 and 70.

Students must attempt exams in class 11th and class 12th TS Board for the same subjects and will not be allowed to change subjects once selected or will have to consult with school authorities regarding the subject change.

TS Board Class 12th Passing Marks 

TS Board class 12th passing marks are 35% aggregate in both academic sessions. Students require a minimum of 350 scores out of 1000 to pass Telangana State Board class 12th examinations. However, for students with special needs like blind, deaf and dumb the passing percentage is 25%.

Practicals of 30 marks have passing marks criteria of 11 and 7 out of 20 for some subjects. Theoretical exams are divided into 100, 80 and 70 marks and the TS Board class 12th passing marks for these are 35, 28 and 24 orderly. There is no grade or grade point for failure in the grading system of Telangana board class 12th.

In case a student fails to score minimum passing marks then the student will have to appear for compartment exams and the passing marks for the compartment remain the same at 35%.
