Ajeenkya DY Patil University was founded by Padmashree awardee, Dr. DY Patil. ADYPU Pune was established in 2015 to educate students and prepare them to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing and complex world. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in Management, Information Technology, Design, Hotel Management, Engineering, Film and Media, Liberal Arts, Law, and Architecture. Course admission is based on entrance exams like GATE/ACTE/JEE Main.

Ajeenkya DY Patil University Pune is also approved by UGC and has been established under Maharashtra Govt. Act of 2015 of Government of Maharashtra.
