Alagappa University was set up in 1985 by a Special Act of the Government of Tamil Nadu to foster research, development, and knowledge dissemination in various learning branches. The admissions to courses like MBA and MCA are done based on entrance exams like TANCET/CAT/MAT/XAT. AU Karaikudi releases all the results on its official website.

Alagappa University admission 2024 is in its final phase for most courses like B.Ed, B.Sc, MCA, MBA, etc. Admission to these courses is based on merit or entrance exams like CAT/MAT/XAT/TANCET. If candidates enroll through learning centers, the course materials shall be sent through the learning centers, and they have to attend the contact classes arranged by the learning centers at their places.
