Alagappa University was started in the 1950s in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu by educationist and philanthropist Dr. RM. Alagappa Chettiar. The 440-acre green and lush campus houses all the academic activities. The University has 44 Departments, 9 Centres and 2 Constituent Colleges on its campus
