It is a part of the phase-IV All India Institute of Medical Sciences announced in July 2014 by the Ministry of Healthcare and Family Welfare (MHFW) under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. The main objective of AIIMS, Mangalagiri institute is to impart excellent medical attention and healthcare facilities and along with education and research to areas under-served of all aspects.
