Guntur Medical College is one of the first medical institutions in South India. It is located in the spirit of Guntur city, the knowledge center of Andhra Pradesh. Recognized in pre-independent India, the institution has come a long way since 1946, the year it was founded. Construction of Guntur Medical College began in 1946. Clinical courses began in July 1954. The university started with 50 students. In 1960 there were 150 students. Postgraduate courses in pre-clinical subjects began in 1956 and clinical subjects in 1958. The college accepts 78 doctoral students annually. In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate education, the faculty offers courses for paramedics and staff such as radiologists, laboratory technicians, laboratory assistants, pharmacists, nurses, and health inspectors. After the construction of the AP University of Health Sciences in 1989, it was affiliated with APUHS (now NTRUHS) in Vijayawada. Admissions to Guntur Medical College are based on prior academic merit and qualifying exam results. It is a well-established teaching institute for providing quality medical education. To apply for admission to medical courses, the NEET 2022 exam must be passed.

• Candidates are also required to go through counseling from NEET to get a seat in the program
• The prospective student must be 17 years of age at the time of admission, or by the end of the calendar year
• The upper age limit for MBBS applicants is 25 years of age, with a relaxation of 5 years for students under reservation or with benchmark disabilities

 PG Eligibility Criteria

• M.D, M.S or equivalent Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India with a minimum of 50% marks.

Super Speciality Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must need more than 200 marks in the All India Quota Seat (AQI) NEET SS.
