NTR University, established in 1986, was the vision of Padmashree Dr. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, a legendary leader and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Dedicated to advancing medical education and healthcare, it was the first university in India exclusively focused on Medical, Dental, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences. Dr. N.T. Rama Rao served as the first Chancellor, and its headquarters in Vijayawada has been instrumental in developing medical education in Andhra Pradesh. Currently, the Honorable Governor of Andhra Pradesh serves as the Chancellor.

NTRUHS Admission 2022 is currently open. Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences conducts admissions for UG, PG, Super Specialty, Doctoral, and Post-Doctoral Fellowship programs in Modern Medicine, Dental, Homeopathy, Indian Systems of Medicine, and Paramedical courses.

Admissions, including management seats, are based on merit from NEET-UG, NEET-PG, NEET-SS, AIPGET (AYUSH-PG), and AP EAMCET for UG Nursing and Paramedical courses. M.Sc. (Nursing) and MPT admissions are determined by qualifying exam performance, with no entrance test required.
