About Maharajah's Institute of Medical Sciences

Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) is located in Nellimarla, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh. It is the first and only teaching hospital in the region. Vizianagaram, with a population of 22.45 lakh and 82% rural population, lacked sufficient healthcare facilities before MIMS. The district had only 11 public hospitals with 836 beds, and MIMS aims to fill this gap. The hospital spans 3,10,000 sq. ft. with 740 beds, and it also focuses on providing outreach services to nearby areas, including the tribal belt of Araku.

How to Apply MBBS

1. NEET UG Registration: Candidates who have qualified in NEET UG must register online on the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) website.
2. Merit List & Counseling: The Dr. YSR UHS MBBS merit list, counseling dates, information bulletin, and other details are available on the official website. 
3. Seat Allocation: Admissions are based on the counseling process conducted. 

Eligibility Criteria

1. NEET UG Qualification: Students must have qualified NEET UG

1. Educational Qualifications:

• Completion of Intermediate (10+2 pattern) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Biotechnology, and English.
• For OC candidates: minimum 50% marks in science subjects.
• For BC/SC/ST candidates: minimum 40% marks in science subjects.
• For OC PH candidates: minimum 45% marks in science subjects.

Category Wise Seats

1. Category A - 50% of seats are filled through counseling based on NEET merit (100 seats). 
2. Category B - 35% of seats are filled through counseling conducted by APMDCMA (70 seats).
3. Category C - 15% of seats are NRI quota, filled based on NEET rank (30 seats).

How to Apply MD/MS

• Candidates who have qualified in NEET PG and wish to study in medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh must register online with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTR UHS).
• The Dr. NTR UHS MD/MS merit list, counseling dates, information bulletin, and other details are available on the official Dr. NTR UHS website.

1. Educational Qualification:

• Candidates must have completed MBBS from a recognized Medical College or University.
• Candidates must have completed their internship by 30-06-2023.

• General (UR): 50th percentile, Cutoff Score: 291
• SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile, Cutoff Score: 257
• OC (Physically Handicapped): 45th percentile, Cutoff Score: 274
