Entrance Exams & Admissions : There was a Common Entrance Examination (CEE), and upon their rank, the colleges were allotted with the hes/her's preferences the branches were given. If individual students want to get into AEC, they have to write the CEE exam.  Cutoffs vary every year, so there is no definite range for that. Tip - If you want to get into the core branches of AEC, then aim for (180 - 190) marks. As I am from the ETE branch, my rank was 172, and my marks were 206.

Placements & Internships : AEC has a very strong network of alumni. Most of the recruiters are passed out actions of batches from the 60s - 90s. Various companies come in for recruitment, ranging from IT companies to oil industries, PSU etc. Companies like IOCL, OIL, SAIL, BPCL are on the list. This year, the highest package was of Rs.17 LPA taken by OIL and BPCL. The 6th-semester internship takes place in various PSUs sent by the college like IOCL, SAIL etc. The internships are unpaid though.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : A state-level examination called as CEE, an abbreviation of Common Entrance Examination, marks the 1st phase of the eligibility criteria. Students that have passed their 12th examination are eligible to appear for CEE. Once the cutoff is set, given a particular number of students receiving marks from the highest and in descending order, the students come for admission on dates as per their CEE marks and any other quota if present. The examination is a total of 300 marks, consisting of papers of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, each of 2 hours. Each paper consists of 100 questions carrying 1 mark. It is an MCQ based paper with 4 options. A correct answer gives +1 mark and there is no negative mark. The branch that I took, i.e chemical engineering has an average demand, with the highest demands in mechanical and civil engineering.

Fees & Scholarships : The course fee is very mediocre. About Rs.10,000/- per year is spent by a student. The exam fee is about Rs.2,000/- per semester. The scholarship options are varied and the college union body informs about any scholarship available. This enables a lot of people to avail the scholarships if they meet the criteria. Generally, loans aren't needed but they are readily available via banks.

Academics & Faculty : The teachers are very qualified ones. However, the course needs upgradation. It still includes age-old methods which have been thrown away by industries a long time ago due to their inefficiency. However, anything new is taught briefly and we are kept in touch. The method is teaching involves mainly notes, however, some of the faculty have a different way of teaching which is a bit brain refreshing. Assignments are average but they are given out mainly near the end semester examinations which increases the pressure.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are in total 8 hostels, 7 for boys and 1 for girls. Each hostel houses about 50-80 students whereas the girl's hostel houses about 200-300 students. The fees paid is mediocre, with mess fee about Rs.3,000/- per month. For students who like a little privacy, there are plenty of PGs and rooms available for rent in the vicinity of the college, at the walking distance apart. The cost of PGs is average, about Rs.6,000/- per month. The classrooms in AEC are good, each having a projector screen, and wifi available in some of the classes. There is AC in some department classes as well.

Clubs & Associations : There are many clubs in AEC to choose from. There is a robotics club, a coding club, even a social welfare club that performs many activities for donation to the poor and needy. The even semesters are filled with activities, ranging from college week to elections to the annual cultural fest - PYROKINESIS, where bands like Girish and the Chronicles, Lucid Recess and singers like Nikhil D Souza, Aditi Singh Sharma have performed.
