It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). AEC is the first government college celebrated golden jubilee in the year 2005. The total campus area of this college is around 400 acres. This college campus area includes the SBI branch with ATM facility, Hostel Building, Quarters for employees, Gym, Bookstall, Hospital, Post Office, Canteen, etc. The students are selected through an entrance examination held by the government of Assam. And in this college, there will be extracurricular activities like NCC, NSS, social, cultural and sports clubs. Assam Engineering College admissions offers UG and PG courses. Assam Engineering College Admission 2024

The college is occupied around 400 acres of area. This college provides its students with adequate and most modern infrastructure and amenities that assist in creating a proper learning environment. Assam Engineering College admission 2024 offers Bachelor in Engineering (B.E) degree in eight different engineering disciplines.

1. It offers Science and Humanity which come under the allied department courses, these Department include physics, chemistry, mathematics, and humanities. This subject knowledge helps the engineering student to understand the constraints inherent in a problem and helps to develop possible approaches for a solution.
2. At the PG level, it offers a Master in Engineering (M.E) degree and Master in Computer Application (MCA) degree.
3. Admission in BE and ME is done through Assam CEE and GATE respectively.
4. The college also offers Ph.D. programs under various departments of Engineering. For Ph.D. courses, the selection of students is done based on marks scored in the last qualifying examination in relevant discipline.
5. For admission in MCA, the candidate has to give the Assam JMEE examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.

Assam Engineering College UG Admission 2024

The college presently offers Under Graduate course of B.E with several specializations. Assam Engineering College offers Bachelor in Engineering (B.E) program in eight different disciplines. These four years B.E. programs altogether offers 420 seats in various specialization. Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering offer 90 seats each, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering offers 60 seats each and Computer Science & Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, and Industrial & Production Engineering offers 20 seats each.

Assam Engineering College UG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Criteria

Students seeking admission after Higher Secondary Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, or its equivalent are admitted through a Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the Government of Assam.

• The Government of Assam also conducts a Lateral Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry which can be opted after completion of the 3-year Polytechnic Diploma from the state of Assam for getting admitted to the B.E. programs in 3rd semester.
• The candidate must have to clear the Assam CEE examinations held in May month of every year.
• To take admission in AEC by Diploma holders (Candidates passing from institutions under State Council of Technical Education, Assam), candidates have to appear in Assam Joint Lateral Entrance Examination (JLEE) for which application forms are to be filled up online at the end of May.
• Candidates will be selected from the merit list prepared based on total marks scored in the admission test.

Assam Engineering College PG Admission 2024

The college presently offers a Post Graduate course. For admission to M.E candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the college. All admissions are made strictly under the college rules in force at the time of admission. The college offers 18 seats in each specialization and thus has 72 seats in total.

Assam Engineering College PG Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Criteria

All candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology from All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent.  Each ME specialization has 18 available seats. At the PG level, it offers a Master in Engineering (M.E) degree and Master in Computer Application (MCA) degree. Admission in ME is done through GATE and for admission in MCA, the candidate has to give the Assam JMEE examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.

• Candidates seeking admission through the Lateral Entry scheme should apply as per the advertisement by the Director of Technical Education, Assam, in leading local newspaper(s) and in the Assam Gazette in May every year.

For Admission Through CEE

• The procedure for appearing CEE usually starts in March/ April every year. The Director of Technical Education, Assam, advertise in the leading local newspaper (s) and the Assam Gazette about it.
• Candidates applying against the reserved quota of children and grandchildren of Freedom Fighters must attach two certificates, one from the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, Assam, certifying the Freedom Fighter, and another from the Deputy Commissioner or Official authorized by the Deputy Commissioner, stating clearly, the direct relationship of the candidate with the freedom fighter.
• The following can apply for seeking admission under reserved categories:
• Candidates applying against the reserved quota of children of employees of the Central Government and Central Government Public Sector Undertakings, posted in Assam for a minimum of 1 year at the time of submission of application must attach two certificates, one from the school or college last attended, and the other a Permanent Resident Certificate of his or her parents from their native state.
• Candidates applying against the reserved quota of children of Ex-Defense Service Personnel must produce a certificate from the Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board, Assam, and documentary evidence of pension.
• Candidates applying against the quota reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Tea Garden and Ex-Tea Garden Community, must produce a certificate on the body of Form B.

Assam Engineering College Admission Fee

Assam Engineering College admission offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the field of engineering. The approximate fee to be paid per year for the B.E. course is around Rs. 11,000.00. This fee comprises of two segments:

1. College admission fee which is around INR 2,000.00.
2. Miscellaneous (Union, Festival, Magazine, Welfare, Poor Fund, Enrolment, I.Card, Caution Money, Transport, laboratory, Internet, T&P Cell, Library, Medical) which is around INR 9,000.00.

Important Note: Students need to deposit the aforesaid fees at SBI, AEC Branch in cash in accounts numbers 10243125269 and 30427184387 through triplicate Bank Slip available with the SBI, AEC. After depositing the money at the bank, they need to deposit the counter folio of Bank Slip at the Account Section of the AEC office, and to collect a proper receipt. Fee for different UG/ PG courses will be based on AEC fee structure.
