Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical university was established in 2020 by Uttar Pradesh Act no. 8 of 2018. The motto of ABVMU is health is the inevitable nectar. It is a government-affiliated university and the first batch of MBBS and BDS students will pass out in 2025. The registration for the CET exam for admission to B.Sc nursing is open now and candidates can apply for the same via the official website of the institute. NEET UG scores are accepted for admission into UG courses. 

ABVMU offers admissions to various courses in the field of nursing, medical, dental, and paramedical. The infrastructure is under construction and will be completed in two phases, the first phase will have an auditorium and administrative block, and the second phase will have hospital and teaching facilities. The institute currently has a transit campus at Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar Lucknow and has fully functional classrooms, labs and hostel facilities.
