Bineswar Brahma Engineering College is named after Bineswar Brahma, who was a renowned member of the Bodo Community. This institute is situated at Kokrajhar which is 5 KM away from the town of Kokrajhar, Assam. The foundation of this institute was laid by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in the year 2008 at Chandrapara. However, it started functioning in the academic year 2010-2011.

In the beginning, BBEC Courses included engineering in the field of Chemical and Electrical. Later this institute started offering two more courses in the field of mechanical and civil engineering. The first batch of the academic year 2010-2011 had 81 students in both electrical and chemical courses at Bodoland University Campus, Debargaon.

• BBEC Admissions are strictly on the basis of merit of the Common Entrance Examination.
• The merit list based on the results of the Common Entrance Examination will be published by the Director of Technical Education, Assam.
