Chitkara University Solan was established in 2008 by the Himachal Pradesh state legislature under the “Chitkara University Act”. The University is a government recognised university under the guidelines of University Grants Commission Act. The university is accredited by the National Assessment Accreditation Council and approved by the University Grants Commission. The university has been ranked among the nation’s best in the 2019 NIRF ranking.

The renowned Chitkara University, Solan offers various programmes through the schools of Engineering and Technology, Hospitality management, Nursing, Computer Applications, Business Studies and Pharmacy at the undergraduate, postgraduate and Phd levels. The admission to all the courses shall be made on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and the personal interview conducted by the respective departments. Chitkara University offers B.E, B.E Lateral, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, B.Pharm and Five years integrated course M.E and MCA. The duration of the B.E course is a term of four academic years. The duration of the B.Sc, BBA, BCA courses is a term of three academic years. And the duration of the B.pharm course is a term of four academic years. The admission to the courses shall be made on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and the personal interview conducted by the respective departments.
