PUMBA, established in 1971, has been a renowned place for management studies and has been a centre of learning and development. The Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), Savitribai Phule Pune University is one of the first Management Institutes in India which has pioneered by itself in the field of Management Studies. The Department of Management Sciences, widely known as Pune University MBA (PUMBA), has been accredited by NAAC with an 'A' grade and five stars. The University is also recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as the University of Potential Excellence.

PUMBA offers undergraduate and postgraduate management programs that include BBA, MBA, MBA (Biotech) and Executive MBA. Admission to these courses is done based on entrance exams like MAH-CET /ATMA, followed by a personal interview.

According to the Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA) placement report 2023, the highest package offered was INR 18.97 LPA and the average package offered was INR 8.85 LPA. PUMBA offers excellent management education and facilities with the goal of developing active management professionals. The following are some of the institute's main features.

PUMBA Courses

PUMBA offers postgraduate and doctorate-level management courses to fresh graduates, students with work experience, and working professionals. Below are the major PUMBA course and fees offered at Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA) and their fee structure and selection criteria.

PUMBA Admission 2025

PUMBA admission 2025 is open now. Admissions to the PG and PhD courses are made online on the official website. The seat intake for MBA and MBA-PBT are 180 and 60, respectively. Similarly, around 60 seats are available for students who want to enrol for Executive MBA. 

• For admissions in MBA candidates from Maharashtra have to appear for MAH-CET exam and aspirants outside Maharashtra have to apply through CMAT/CAT.
• For MBA Biotech, candidates should have a valid score in the ATMA entrance exam.
• For Executive MBA and other programs, the university will conduct an entrance exam, based on the performance candidates can apply for seats. 
• Candidates that qualify for the MH-CET must go through the CAP process. Students from states other than Maharashtra must apply for the CAP through DTE's official website.
• The CAP will be completed in four rounds. The first three rounds will be based on centralized allotment. Counselling will take place in the fourth round solely for eligible Maharashtra state candidates.
• Further, the shortlisted candidates should visit the PUMBA campus and get their original documents verified. Further, if the admission is approved, then the candidate should pay the fee followed by keeping the payment receipt for reference by downloading it.

PUMBA Cutoff

PUMBA admission to management courses is offered for students who have cleared the institute's cutoff criteria and have secured a good percentile in accepted entrance exams. The PUMBA cutoff of MBA and MBA Pharma-Biotech courses based on MAHCET, CMAT, ATMA and CAT entrance exams.

The cutoffs generally depend on the category of the students, difficulty of the entrance exam, number of students clearing the exam, total number of seats available for the program, previous year cutoffs, and academic track record of the students.

The campus provides all the basic amenities necessary for the growth of the students.  The whole campus is well equipped with all the important needs such as Classroom, Wifi, Hostels, Syndicate Room, Alumni Cell, Communication Cell, Seminar Hall, Conference Halls etc.

PUMBA Facilities

• The PUMBA library is located on the ground floor which provides very incandescence and a pleasant reading environment for the people. There are over a collection of 9000 books which include magazines, management journals, CDs, Project reports, Thesis, and other course-related documents. 
• Students can have access to uninterrupted high-speed internet access 24 hours. The campus is equipped with internet connectivity. The network around the campus is monitored through the server.
• Apart from the Wi-Fi connection, every classroom, syndicate room, administration cell, activity cells have separate network connectivity points. 
• PUMBA does not have a separate hostel. The Pune University hostels have a few places dedicated for PUMBA Pune students. Every year, the hostel may accommodate up to 20 male and female PUMBA Pune students.
• The computer dome houses branded computers and also facilitates lease lines providing connectivity throughout the campus. The network is monitored and controlled through Servers.
• The PUMBA lab is equipped with computer facilities, including Dell Blade Servers and IBM XEON Servers.
• Operating systems like Linux Server on Machines and Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 are also available.
