Established in 1969, Dr. Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, stands as one of India’s premier homoeopathic institutions. Located in the heart of the city, it is conveniently situated just three kilometers from the airport and one kilometer from the train station. Designated as the State Model Homoeopathic facility by the Department of AYUSH, Government of India, it holds the distinction of being the first institution of its kind in the country. Formerly known as Govt. Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital and it was renamed to honor Dr. Abhin Chandra. In 1977 the college pioneered the introduction of the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery degree, making it the first government-run homoeopathic college in India to offer such a program.

B.H.M.S Degree Course

Duration: 5.5 years (includes 1-year compulsory rotating internship).
Establishment: Introduced in 1977 as the first degree course in homoeopathy in India.
Eligibility:

Must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The qualification must be recognized by Utkal University.

Seats Available:

Total: 25 seats.
1 seat reserved for nominees of the Government of India.
24 seats filled through common selection in Odisha based on marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

M.D. (Hom.) Course Admission Procedure

Selection Process:

Based on the merit list from a written entrance examination.
