Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, commonly known as AKTU, is a public university established in 2000. Located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the AKTU Lucknow campus spans over 30 acres. Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), AKTU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The university is ranked 82nd by EduRank among the top universities in India for 2025.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in the streams of Engineering, Management, Pharmaceutical, Architecture, Design, and Hospitality. AKTU admissions 2026 for its Bachelor’s and Master’s programs are conducted online through national entrance exams and the UPTAC Counselling process. 85% of the available seats are allocated based on entrance exam scores and subsequent counselling sessions. The remaining 15% of seats are reserved for Management/NRI Quota admissions, following guidelines set by the UP Government and AKTU. Interested students should follow the below-mentioned criteria for AKTU admission for top courses:

• B.Tech: Requires 45% marks in PCM and selection is based on the JEE Main score via UPTAC Counselling.

• B.Arch: Requires 50% marks (overall and in PCM) and selection is based on the NATA score via UPTAC Counselling.

• B.Pharm: Requires 45% marks in PCM or PCB and selection is based on the CUET UG score via UPTAC Counselling.

• MBA: Requires a Bachelor's degree with 50% marks and selection is based on CUET PG or CMAT score via UPTAC Counselling.

• MCA: Requires a relevant Bachelor's degree with 50% marks and selection is based on the CUET PG score via UPTAC Counselling.
