Introduction About College

Dr. Padiar Memorial Homoeopathic Medical College, located near the Devi Temple in Chottanikkara, Ernakulam, Kerala, was founded in 1920 by Dr. Sreenivasa Padiar and Dr. Madhava Padiar. The college originated from their earlier initiatives: the "Royal College of Homoeopathic Physicians" and "The Free to the Poor Dispensary" in Cochin. Their goal was to spread Homoeopathic medicine and train aspiring practitioners. The first batch had just three students, marking the humble beginning of this prominent institution, which is now the second oldest Homoeopathic medical college in India. Since 1976, the institution has been managed by the Board of Trustees appointed by the religious head of the Gowda Saraswatha Brahmin Community, His Holiness Shrimad Samyamindra Thirtha Swamiji. The college awarded the LRCHP (Licentiate of Royal College of Homoeopathic Physicians) until 1996 and was included in the Second Schedule of the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973.
