Dr. Zakir Husain Institute, [ZHI] Patna is one of the Prestigious Institutes of India devised under BR Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. The Institute offered Computer Education especially for Women for the first time ever in the country in the year 1982. The Institute also offered the first ever P.G. Diploma program in Computer Applications especially in Hindi medium which was sponsored by Ministry of IT, Govt. of India. The Institute also witnessed the first-ever installation of a Hindi Computer called 'DCM Sidharth' in the year 1983. The first ever Internet Caféteria of  Bihar and Jharkhand was inaugurated at the Institute Campus in 1998.
