The Faculty of Management Studies of BHU functions under the Institute of Management Studies. It was established in 1968 and is a public institution offering only Management courses at PG and doctoral levels.

FMS HU is an academic branch or unit of BHU which was established in 1968 offering Management programs at both UG and PG level. 

FMS BHU has been ranked #36 among Management institutes in India by NIRF 2020 rankings. It offers summer internships and placements to its students in partnership with certain well-known companies.

The Department also offers students summer internships and on-campus placements. It partners with over 100 companies which take forth the recruitment process.

The institute offers courses like MBA, PGDM, & MBA- IB for all the eligible and interested candidates. The courses are offered in different specializations such as as- Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, and operations. Admission at the institute can be done through the entrance exam and Academic performance. The entrance exam is followed by the Group discussion and Personal Interview round.

The institute offers different courses and the application form fee is different for all courses. The application form fee for MBA-IB is Rs. 2000 for the general category and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST/PC categories. The admission form can be submitted on the website of the BHU.

Following are the steps to follow for the application form submission:

• Go to the official website of the Institute.
• Click on the link to the Application Form available on the front page.
• Now register yourself by providing all the required details.
• After successful registration, sign in.
• Now, fill the application form with all the required details.
• Also, upload the documents with your signature.
• Click on the “Submit” button.
• Make a payment of the required amount through Net Banking, Credit / Debit Card.

The institute accepts different exams for the different courses here are the list of entrance exams accepted by the institute for the different courses.

Seat Availability

Following are the details od seat availability for different courses:

• MBA-IB - For Domestic Candidates 150 seats and for International Candidates: 15% seats are reserved
• MBA-AB - For Domestic Candidates, 46 seats and for International Candidates 15% seats are reserved

Selection Criteria for MBA-IB

For Domestic students: 

• Candidates must have to qualify for the entrance exam.
• If the student qualifies for the entrance exam then they will invite for the GD and PI round.
• During the GD and PI round, candidates need to register themself for the BHU with Rs. 1000.

The final selection will be collectively done based on:

• CAT Score: 50%
• GD & PI Scores: 30%
• Academic Performance: 20%

For International Students

Candidates will be selected based on their scores in GMAT and English language proficiency with TOEFL scores.

Selection Criteria for MBA-AB

• Candidates must have to qualify the written test conducted by the university.
• Shortlisted candidates are invites for the GD and PI rounds.
• The merit list will be uploaded on the website.

Selection Criteria for PGDBA

• Selection is based on academic scores and work experience.
• All this is followed by the GD and PI round.

Selection For Ph.d

• Admission is based on CRET conducted by BHU.
• Those who have a valid score in UGC- NET or JRF are exempted from appearing for CRET. these candidates are directly appearing for the interview round.

Counseling

During the counseling, round candidates must have to carry all the required documents which are mentioned above.

Entrance Exam

CAT, CRET, GMAT is the entrance exams whose score are accepted in this institute. Entrance exams are conducted to know the understanding of students toward the topics. The university itself conducts the entrance exam for the Ph.D. students and the CAT scores are accepted for the MBA-IB program.

Preparation tips

First the course according to the eligibility and the interest. Prepare for the entrance exams first. Because the entrance exam is only the way which can increase your chances to get selected for the respective course. During the preparation make sure you are reading about the latest happening in the world. Read the newsletters or newspapers for regular updates, it will help you during the Group discussion round. Make sure you are preparing for the PI round also because it is the toughest round for all.

Hall Ticket/Admit Card

The admit card for all the entrance exams will be released before the date of the exam. Candidates need to download the admit card from the respective website of the entrance exam and then need to take a  printout of it. Carry your admit card and one identity proof during the time of the exam.

Results

Results of entrance exams will be uploaded on the official website of the exams. The list of selected candidates will also be uploaded on the official website of the respective exams.
