Scholarship: Goa Institute of Management (GIM) believes in the philosophy of excellence with ethics in the educational process of forming responsive and responsible leaders who would make a significant contribution to the growth of the nation and her people. While admitting students into management courses. GIM maintains diversity, access and quality by providing scholarships for meritorious students. The following scholarships are given to deserving candidates who fulfil all the terms and conditions.
ACCESS scholarship is given to 45 meritorious students worth INR 4,00,000 and GMS scholarships are given to 5 HCM students worth INR 4,00,000.
The scholarship is given in two instalments, fifty percent in the first year and the rest of the second year, which is subject to the academic performance and conduct of the awardee. If an awardee’s academic performance or conduct is not satisfactory to the expectations of the management, the release of the second instalment will be stopped.
The GMS awardees will not be eligible for any other financial concessions or benefits from GIM.
Winners of ACCESS will not be eligible to apply for the Tuition Fee Waiver scheme.
LOANS:
Studying at GIM involves a minimal amount of cash outflows for most students. The Bank of India provide a loan of up to Rs. 10 lakhs for any student studying at GIM without security or collateral.The State Bank of India has announced on its website a loan of up to INR 20,00,000 for GIM students for the session 2017-19.
Tuition Fee waiver and Freeship Scheme:
All students who clear the admissions process of GIM and whose total family income is less than INR 6,00,000/annum would get a full waiver of the tuition fees up to a maximum of 5% of students admitted. Institute offers freeships up to 5% of its students admitted, provided the students have passed their qualifying examination from colleges/ universities in the state of Goa, and their annual family income does not exceed Rs 5 lakhs per annum.

To facilitate the development of cross-cultural perspectives, increase the ability to engage across borders and open up opportunities for students across the globe, GIM conducts foreign language courses for the full-time students. Basic courses are offered in French, Portuguese, German, and Spanish in collaboration with Alliance Française de Goa, Instituto Camões, Panjim and Indo–German Educational and Cultural Society &Communicare, Goa respectively.
Programmes Offered: The college offers three main courses in management. PGDM where the intake is 240 , PGDM (HCM) where the intake is 60 and PGDM (Part Time).
Eligibility Criteria: As per AICTE norm, minimum 50% aggregate marks in a three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE. For admission to the postgraduate programme in business management only those candidates who register for the XLRI Admissions Test XAT of Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur or CAT of the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) or GMAT conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) or CMAT - 2017-18 of All India Council for Technical Education, are eligible.

Applicants to GIM are required to take the XLRI Admissions Test XAT or CAT of the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) or GMAT examination or CMAT of All India Council for Technical Education.

Shortlisting for face-to-face evaluation shall be on the basis of profiles (XAT, CAT,GMAT or CMAT score, qualification, past academic performance and work experience) for PGDM-HCM. Shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interview process in various cities in the beginning of March.
For PGDM, a select group of bright candidates shall be invited to Goa for Achiever's round of interview process in January . All other candidates shall be invited for Regular round in the beginning of March at various interview centers in the country. The Achiever's round candidates are supposed to be interviewed in Goa itself and their final selection shall be made on objective and leadership assessment (40% weight age), the candidate's past academic performance (15% weight age), work experience, if any (10% weight age), performance in face to face evaluation process (30 % weight age) and composite diversity index (5% weight age).
The final selection for regular round of PGDM and PGDM-HCM will be made on the basis of objective assessment (40% weight age), the candidate's past academic performance (15% weight age), work experience, if any (10% weight age), performance in face to face evaluation process (30 % weight age) and composite diversity index (5% weight age). This is Subject to obtaining the desired proficiency in written communication and a minimum score for each evaluation component, except work experience. The objective assessment shall be based on XAT, CAT, GMAT or CMAT score.
The qualifying cut-off XAT / CAT / GMAT / CMAT score will be lowered by 15 points for candidates of Goan domicile/origin. Documentary evidence of domicile will have to be supplied along with the completed Application Form.
Cutoffs: The Cut Off for PGDM as per XAT is around 80 percentile, for CAT is around 88 percentile and for CMAT is around 98.85 percentile.
Placements & Internships :
At Goa Institute of Management , In the summer after the first year, students are required to spend eight to ten weeks in an industrial organization doing a project on a significant aspect or problem of organizational management. The aim of the summer project is to provide students an opportunity to observe closely an organization in operation and to relate what they have learned in class to actual practice.
Internship Companies: GIM is recognized as a brand in the corporate world . The Summer Placements are fairly good in the college with around 90% of the batch getting placed in the summers.
Being a Finance Major, I sit my summers in one of the best finance companies that came to our college, Goldman Sachs. The experience at Goldman Sachs was invaluable and helped me understand the various nuances of investment banks. The stipend that I was paid was Rs 1 Lakh per month for two months.
Placements: Goa Institute of Management has been witnessing record placements each year. The college is proud to have astounding 100% placement for the Class of 2016. This is considerably notable especially because of a rise in the first time recruiters and the faith entrusted by recruiters in the quality of our students. The number of recruiters increased by 34% from 2015, increasing from 56 to 75 companies coming on campus.
The robust performance displayed by our students is a testimony to the industry connect that GIM has and the students of GIM who are not just capable but ethical. This speaks volumes of the Give Goa initiative that GIM students are involved in aiming at inculcating the spirit of being sensitive to the society and the environment.
Average Salary: The average salary has seen a robust increase of around 7.5% to INR 9.40 lakhs over the previous year 2015. The total number of PPO/PPI offered to the batch 2014-2016 were 34 and the Highest Package offered was INR 16.5 lakhs , the Median Package was INR 8.5 lakhs. The PPOs and PPIs were extended to our students courtesy their dedicated efforts during their Summer Internships with esteemed corporates such as JP Morgan, Britannia, Fidelity Investments, Wipro, Pidilite, Blue Ocean, Odessa Technologies, Tata Capital, Tata Motors, VIP, among others.
A few key highlights of the placement season for the Class of 2016 were that 38% of the batch bagged offers for more than INR 9 lakhs. Also, recruiters continued to show faith in our capabilities and recruited in double digits. These recruiters are Reliance Industries, DE Shaw, HUL, Citibank, Britannia, Godrej & Boyce, Tata Motors, IFMR, Wipro Technologies, Deloitte, Pidilite, RBS, HDFC Bank, Birla Sun Life, Accenture, United Breweries, Tata Capital, WCCLG.
The top recruiters at GIM were DE Shaw, Godrej&Boyce, HUL , E&Y, TCS, TATA Capital, JP Morgan, Fidelity and Infosys to name a few.
Alumni Network: GIM has a very broad and distinguished network of Alumni. The Student Alumni Relation Cell (SARC) at GIM plays a key role in ensuring that the ALUMNI association with the college remains strong. GIM has a very reputed Alumni Network spread across diverse fields. Academics & Faculty :
Life at GIM is bubbling with energy and joy owing to the sports and cultural activities planned and conducted by the students. The range of activities is an amazing mosaic of filmmaking, choir, orchestra, movie club, theater, quizzing, the celebration of festivals and ‘learning with fun’ for village children from the neighborhood.
At GIM the daily routine is 9AM to 5PM regular class schedule followed by chilling afterwards. The college has a well maintained Gymnasium and swimming pool and basketball and tennis court. A large number of awards won by our students is a testimony to this spirit.The GIM campus is always buzzing with life. Library and Computer Labs are open 24X7, and hostels are WiFi enabled to facilitate access to data and enable learning round the clock. The campus has modern sports facilities including a swimming pool, two lawn-tennis courts, a football field, basket-ball and volley-ball courts, and a well-equipped gymnasium. Other facilities such as laundry, TV, a music room, a meditation room, indoor sports and a doctor on campus contribute to an excellent student life on campus.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The sprawling 50 acre state-of-the-art Sanquelim campus and the 350 year old heritage Ribandar campus not only provide technology enabled teaching-learning infrastructure but also have excellent living and sportsamenities which makes the GIM experience more memorable.
There are total of 7 hostels. The hostels are very well maintained and kept spic and span. They are cleaned on a regualr basis. In the first year students have double occupancy and single occupancey is subject to availability whereas in the second year the students have to compulsorily stay on songle occupancy. the hostel fees is different for AC and Non AC hostels. The fees for Non AC double occupancy is INR 21000 for each trimester and for AC is INR 50000 each trimester.
The college has its own mess and serves four times a day. The food is proper and the canteen has variety of option . Also there is a juice , snacks and pastry shop within the camous. The vegetarian meal charges INR 12000 per trimester and for non vegetarian meal charge is INR 21000 per trimester. Food is of good quality and the canteen is kept clean and tidy.
The college boasts of well maintained classrooms, libraray and 24 hours open Finance Lab. The classrooms are spacious and RFID enabled, the library has almost every other book that you need and there is very well WiFi connectivity in the entire campus.
Clubs & Associations :
The campus has modern sports facilities including a swimming pool, two lawn-tennis courts, a football field, basket-ball and volley-ball courts, and a well-equipped gymnasium. Other facilities such as laundry, TV, a music room, a meditation room, indoor sports and a doctor on campus contribute to an excellent student life on campus.
The college has around 21 clubs in total , some of the well known being Razzmatazz - the cultural club, Hriday- the HR club , Mecca- the marketing club , Sophia- the finance club. The college has events and festival celebrations all around the year.
