Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has a pioneer institute-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (IASRI) undertaking research, teaching and training in Agricultural Statistics, Bioinformatics and Computer Application. In 1930, ever since its inception, as a small Statistical Section of the then Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, the Institute has grown in stature and made its presence felt both nationally and internationally. The institute campus has within it, a number of amenities such as conference rooms/seminar halls, libraries and laboratories.
The institute is an initiative of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research [ICAR]. ICAR-IASRI has been mainly responsible to research agricultural statistics and informatics to bridge the gaps in the existing knowledge. Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, [IASRI] New Delhi has also been providing education and training in Agricultural Statistics and Informatics to develop trained manpower in the nation. Currently it offers courses at the postgraduate and Ph.D level. The research and education are used in improving the quality and meeting the challenges of agricultural research in newer emerging areas.
At the postgraduate level of education, the institute offers courses under the Master of Science [M.Sc] degree programme. There are 3 specialization subjects for the candidates to choose from. The M.Sc courses are for a duration of 2 years. Following are further details-

The college offers research in three subjects, as an extension of the postgraduate degrees. The duration of a Ph.D course is typically 3-4 years. Q: What is the Admission Process?
A: Admission is by entrance examination. An advertisement in the newspapers each year is displayed around March inviting applications for admission. The last date for receipt of applications is generally the last week of April or a date as specified from time to time. The admission to M.Sc and Ph.D programme is through the All India Combined Competitive Examination conducted by the Education Division, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). On the basis of the merit the ICAR finalizes the admission.
