Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has a pioneer institute-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (IASRI) undertaking research, teaching and training in Agricultural Statistics, Bioinformatics and Computer Application. In 1930, ever since its inception, as small Statistical Section of the then Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, the Institute has grown in stature and made its presence felt both nationally and internationally. ICAR-IASRI has been mainly responsible to research agricultural statistics and informatics to bridge the gaps in the existing knowledge. IASRI has also been providing education and training in Agricultural Statistics and Informatics to develop trained manpower in the nation. The research and education are used in improving the quality and meeting the challenges of agricultural research in newer emerging areas.

Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute also occupies a place of pride in the National Agricultural Statistics System (NASS) and has made several valuable contributions in strengthening NASS, which has a direct impact on the national policies. Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) commonly known as Pusa Institute is India's premier national Institute for extension, education and agricultural research.

Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute is conducting M.Sc. and PhD programmes in Agricultural Statistics since 1964, M.Sc. in Computer Application since 1985-86, PhD in Computer Application since 2013-14, M.Sc. in Bioinformatics since 2011-12 and PhD in Bioinformatics since 2014-15. The planning, organization and coordination of M.Sc. and PhD programmes in all the three disciplines are carried out in collaboration with PG School, IARI, New Delhi. There was placement cell but as the College having only PG and PhD courses with less intake at that time. We were informed with all jobs advertisement and employment news facilities.

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute Facilities include two Guest Houses, International Training Hostel and Panse Hostel situated in the campus. The Panse Hostel has 27 rooms and the International Training Hostel has 12 rooms on double occupancy. The Rooms of both guest houses are equipped with features like Complimentary Wi-Fi, Cable Television, Air-Conditions/Cooler etc.

Mostly all scientific days, National Events, Teachers Day as well as yearly fest and events are celebrated at IASRI. No comparison IASRI Hostel is one of the best in India. Per room one student at that time. The licence fee is in limit and not that much. The mess was cooperative and maintained by office or college authority. The Institute has a well-organized hostel inside the campus. Of the two wings of the hostel, the new wing was constructed in 1970. Boarding and lodging in the hostel are compulsory for all the students admitted to various courses of a study conducted by the institute in the disciplines of Agricultural Statistics, Computer Applications and Bioinformatics under the PG School, IARI, New Delhi. There is well-equipped and furnished mess run on a cooperative basis by the students. There are Common Room furnished, Inter-alia where all important magazines and newspapers are available. There are adequate facilities for games, both indoor and outdoor for the students.
