Indian Law Institute (ILI) was founded in 1956. The main vision of ILI is promoting and conducting legal research across India.Hon'ble Chief Justice of India is the ex-officio President of the Institute. The Union Minister of Law & Justice is its Ex-officio Vice-President. The Attorney General for India, some Judges of the Supreme Courts and High Courts, Solicitor General of India, Chairman, Law Commission and University Grant Commission and other prominent lawyers and law professors etc. are the members of the Governing Council.The Indian Law Institute has been granted Deemed University Status in 2004.

Doctor of Philosophy in Law (Ph.D. in Law) 12*# LL.M. degree with minimum 55% marks required. Includes course work for at least one semester.
Master of Law (LL.M.) - One Year Programme 53** Duration: 1 year, comprising 2 semesters.
Post Graduate Diploma Programmes (One Year) - -
Alternative Dispute Resolution 143 Persons with a Graduate Degree in any branch can apply. Annual examinations for all PG Diplomas.

LL.M. – One Year Programme Admission Fee: ₹1,38,000, Univ. Enrolment: ₹2,000, Security Deposit: ₹5,000, Exam Fee: ₹5,000. Total: ₹1,50,000. One-time Security Deposit is refundable.
Post Graduate Diploma Programmes Fee: ₹28,000, Univ. Enrolment: ₹2,000, Security Deposit: ₹3,000, Exam Fee: ₹2,000. Total: ₹35,000 per course. Courses include: ADR, Corporate Laws, Cyber Law, Intellectual Property Rights Laws.
Online Certificate Courses Fee: ₹10,000. For foreign students: USD 150. Courses include Cyber Laws and IPR in the Internet Age.
Foreign Students/NRIs Ph.D.: USD 300/year; LL.M.: USD 500/year; PG Diploma: USD 200/year; SAARC Countries: USD 100/year. Development fee applies in addition to the above fees.

Classes & Medium of instruction and examination of all the courses shall be English.

Indian Law Institute  Eligibility Conditions

Programme Eligibility Remarks
Ph.D. in Law LL.M. Degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized university. Provisional admission allowed for candidates awaiting results, subject to submission by 15.09.2024. Failure to submit results will lead to cancellation of admission.
LL.M. – One Year Programme LL.B. Degree with at least 50% marks from a Bar Council-recognized university or a Law Degree from a foreign university with 50% marks or equivalent as per AIU. Provisional admission allowed for candidates awaiting results, subject to submission by 15.09.2024. Failure to submit results will lead to cancellation of admission.
P.G. Diploma Programmes Graduate Degree from a recognized university. Additional 5% weightage for Law Graduates/CA/CMA/CS for admission to all P.G. Diploma Programmes.
On-Line Certificate Courses 10+2 with access to a computer and the Internet. Relaxation in marks is provided for reserved category candidates.
