This college was established in 1955, Civil Engineering School was started by a society named as “Institute of Engineering & Technology”. Late Shanker Saran, retired judge Hon'ble High Court of Allahabad, and Late Vishwamitra an advocate were respectively the President and Secretary of the society. It was the first Polytechnic to be started in Asia. In 1962, Uttar Pradesh Government took over this Institute by constituting a registered society named “Allahabad Polytechnic, Allahabad”.Subsequently, the Institute was awarded Academic Autonomy by the State Government. The Engineering Degree Division of IERT College was established in 2001 and currently, it is affiliated with Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, and U.P. It has a sizable library, consisting of a huge collection of books on engineering and several other subjects. The college has a vision “To be globally acclaimed Institute in Technical Education and Rural Technological Research that provides a transformative education to create innovators and leaders that serves for the betterment of the society and humanity at large.

The college has developed a transparent and efficient admission process for aspiring candidates in 2024. Candidates provisionally selected for admission in any program should appear before the Admission Committee with parents/ guardians. Parent/ Guardian must accompany the candidate at the time of admission. IERT Allahabad College completed application forms along with the submission of original documents should be submitted on or before the notified date. Any failure to complete the procedure of admission will not be entertained.

Courses Offered by IERT Allahabad
This college offers various UG and PG courses such as B.Tech and MBA. IERT, Allahabad offers B. Tech course in seven disciplines such as Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The UG Programme consists of a 4-year degree course. The college has well-equipped labs with modern equipment. Its computer lab owns the latest computers, software and application development tools, etc. Additional value-added programs are also conducted by various departments, forums, and committees with the intention of further bolstering the future prospects of our students.

Abdul Kalam Technical University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow to supervise and control the State Entrance Examination referred to as UPSEE-2024 being conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. A student interested in admission should take special attention to the expected date for UPSEE 2024 Examination which is 10th May 2024.
IERT Allahabad Admission Fees
Fees structure for newly admitted students of 1st Year & 2nd-year lateral Entry for academic Session 2024 is as follows. It includes the Tuition Fee of Rs. 55,000/- Per Annum along with Student’s Activity Fee (For All Students) Rs. 3,000/- Per Annum, Caution Money for only newly admitted Rs.5,000/- (One Time) and Examination Fee Rs. 7,500/- Per Annum(As per Dr. APJAKTU, Lucknow). Therefore IERT Allahabad fee structure combines to Rs. 70500/-. All the eligible students belong to GEN/OBC/SC/ST category are required to fill the On-line Scholarship form for Scholarship/Reimbursement of fees. Failing this the students will be responsible for the same. If payment through Demand Draft then separate DD should be in favor of "Director, IERT" payable at Prayagraj.
