Placements & Internships : We are going for training in OIL and Electricity sectors and in BSNL as part of our internships. Companies like Vodafone and few other telecom company participates in the hiring process at JIST.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : For my course at Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology, Assam there is an entrance examination named Assam CEE (common engineering entrance) held for our state which is conducted by Dibrugarh University. The cutoffs are a minimum of 45% marks in PCM.

Fees & Scholarships : The course fee at JIST, Jorhat costs about Rs.15,000 excluding costs like hostel and transportation. Minority scholarships and Ishan Uday are available for students. Among 100 students only 20 to 25 students get scholarships. I don't think loans are required.

Academics & Faculty : The daily routine is simple with the classes starting at 9:15AM to 1:25PM including labs. Then there is a lunch break of 50 minutes and again classes start from 2:15PM to 4:30PM. Quality and method of teaching at JIST are pretty good. The overall experience is good.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 4 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel and another girl hostel being constructed at JIST. PGs are available outside the college and its fees vary from Rs.3000 to Rs.4500. The quality of classrooms, labs, libraries, dinning halls, Wi-Fi and other key infrastructure are good.

Clubs & Associations : Maybe the infrastructure, laboratories, and classrooms quality are not up to that mark as compared to other colleges, but I can say one thing without any doubt that the teaching quality at my college is very good compared to some other colleges. And every student who comes to Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology will get a very good environment for studying and will be able to make some very good friends. The main festivals are Engineers day, Teachers day, Independence, Republic day, Women's day, etc. But We celebrate almost every other festival's and every year we arrange our annual technical festival named 'ABEYAANTRIX' in which we try to arrange maximum events so that every student can show his/her, talents.
