K J Somaiya Institute of Technology was established in 2001 at Ayurvihar campus, Sion, and was initiated with a first batch of 180 undergraduate students and three branches in Engineering—namely Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Information Technology.

KJSIT is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & the Govt. of Maharashtra with a permanent affiliation to the University of Mumbai (UOM). It is accredited with an “A” Grade and 3.21 CGPA in its 1st cycle for 5 years duration by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the National Board of Accreditation.

KJSIT is bestowed upon the “BEST COLLEGE AWARD” by the University of Mumbai in the urban region and the “Best Engineering College Award" by the CSI local chapter and also from ISTE Maharashtra and Goa Section.

K J Somaiya Institute of Technology Admission

KJSIEIT Admissions are strictly based on the inter-merit basis and as per the rules made by the Directorate of Technical Education and Admission Regulating Authority, Government of Maharashtra. For the seats, candidates can apply for CAP by the Competent Authority as per schedule. An online application for CAP is available on the website. The seats will be filled by the CAP-appearing students. For the remaining seats, the students can fill out the online application form. The online application form will be uploaded for the remaining seats vacant after the CAP round.

The charge for the application form is INR 1000. Notifications and advertisements regarding vacant seats will be published in the newspaper and admission will be given on the college website.

The university admissions can be done online on the official website of the university. The candidates need to attach all the necessary documents with the admission form. Based on the eligibility criteria, the candidates will be provided admission. The admission fees are required to be paid by DD or a pay order drawn in favor of the college.

At the time of confirming admissions, all the original documents along with photocopies need to be submitted. The documents are a Marksheet, Certificate, Aadhar Card, migration certificate, certificate of Indian Nationality, Gap affidavit, caste certificate, bank account details, etc.

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Biology Technical Vocational subjects or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies and obtained at least 45 % marks.

M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Passed Bachelor Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology from all India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks.

PhD Eligibility Criteria

• The Candidates shall have passed Master’s Degree by Research of Universities which are recognized by UGC as equivalent there-to with at least 55% marks in aggregate of all years / all semesters or its equivalent CGPA grade ‘B+’ in the UGC 10 – Points scale or an equivalent CGPA grade in a points scale.
