Kalpataru Institute of Technology Admissions

The B.E. program spans four years (eight semesters) and commences in August. Admissions are based on Karnataka Government guidelines and require entrance exams like KCET, COMED-K, AIEEE, or equivalent. Applications can also be directly submitted to the Principal.

Postgraduate Admissions:

For MBA/M. Tech programs, and entrance exams such as PGCET, KMAT, or MAT (MBA) are mandatory, following Karnataka Government norms. Direct applications are accepted via the Principal.

Eligibility Certificate:

Candidates from outside Karnataka must secure an "Eligibility Certificate" from VTU, Belagavi, before admission.

Lateral Entry:

Karnataka-based diploma holders are eligible for direct admission to the second year of the B.E. program through the Directorate of Technical Education. Management seats are not applicable for this category.

Eligibility Criteria:

B.E.: Minimum 45% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject (Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, or Computer Science) in PUC or equivalent (40% for SC/ST).

MBA: Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST) and a valid CMAT score.

Student Accommodation:

The institute offers four hostels on campus, accommodating 350 boys and 500 girls, with separate arrangements for first-year students. Facilities include filtered water, hot water, broadband internet, a health centre with a doctor, and 24/7 security. Dining halls serve hygienic vegetarian South and North Indian food for up to 150 boys and 125 girls. Additional amenities include phones, newspapers, TVs, mentoring programs, and annual events like Freshers' Meet and Hostel Day. Anti-ragging committees ensure a safe environment.

Sports Facilities:

KIT provides extensive sports infrastructure with fields for cricket, football, volleyball, and hockey, courts for basketball, throwball, and tennis, and indoor facilities for table tennis, chess, carrom, and powerlifting. Regular camps for judo, karate, and tennis are conducted. The institute also hosts inter-class and university-level competitions, emphasizing fitness and teamwork.

Library:

The 1,500-square-meter library features sections for issue, reference, digital access, and a 250-seat reading hall. It holds 68,042 books, 13,500 titles, 57 journals, and 2,330 back volumes. Digital resources, including IEEE and Springer e-journals, are accessible via the VTU e-portal. Operating from 9 AM to 9 PM on working days with a 24/7 reading hall, the library also provides OPAC, WEBOPAC, and digital repositories. Training programs assist students in maximizing e-learning resources like NPTEL and MIT.
