The Kempegowda Institute of Physiotherapy underscores the increasing importance of physiotherapy as a key discipline. BACHELOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

The BPT course at Oxford College of Physiotherapy is a 4.5-year program, recognized by the Government of Karnataka and affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Approved by the IAP, it emphasizes both academic knowledge and personality development, shaping students into skilled physiotherapists. The college offers a modern infrastructure with well-equipped classrooms and advanced teaching aids for quality training.

• The BPT course is a full-time 4.5-year program, including a 6-month compulsory rotary internship.
• Curriculum: The BPT course is conducted in English for both instruction and examinations.
• Duration: 4 years of study plus a 6-month internship.

Masters of Physiotherapy:-

The Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) is a 2-year program under RGUHS, designed to provide advanced learning for students with a BPT degree. The course integrates foundational knowledge with case studies and clinical practice, emphasizing evidence-based practice and critical thinking.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

The BPT program is a full-time, 4.5-year course, including a 6-month mandatory internship. English is the medium of instruction and examination.

Required Documents for Admission:

• PUC pass certificate or +12
• Mark sheets (PUC and 10th/SSLC)
• Age proof certificate
• Address proof and nationality certificate
• Transfer and migration certificates
• Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS)
• Conduct and medical fitness certificates
• 4 passport-sized photographs

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have passed the two-year Pre-University examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, or an equivalent exam recognized by RGUHS.
• Students with vocational Physiotherapy as an optional subject are also eligible.
• Foreign nationals must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and obtain an eligibility certificate from RGUHS.

Marks Requirement:

• A minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in the qualifying examination.

Age Requirement:

• Applicants must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year.

Master of Physiotherapy (MPT)

The MPT course is a 2-year full-time program, with English as the medium of instruction.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have completed a BPT/B.Sc. (PT) degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and a 6-month internship.
• Candidates who completed BPT through correspondence or distance education are not eligible.

Library
The college has three libraries: one at Banashankari, one in the KIMS block, and a reference library on campus. With over 17,000 books on medicine and physiotherapy, the libraries also offer national and international journals. An internet centre provides medical research access for a nominal fee.

Central Library
Founded in 1981, the KIMS Library houses 21,500 medical books, 10,150 bound volumes, and 145 periodicals. A separate hospital library contains 4,600 books for clinical departments. Both libraries feature digital access, internet, and department-specific resources. Operating hours: 8:30 am to 9:00 pm on weekdays.

Hospital & Transport
Students can travel between campuses via mass transport, with buses running during the morning, lunch, and evening hours. A nominal fee applies. Five buses, including a mini-bus and Maruthi vans, transport students to and from various locations.

Hostel
Separate hostels for boys and girls are located near the Pre-clinic campus, about 4 km from the college, with bus transport provided. The hostel is supervised with strict rules.

Bank
A Syndicate Bank extension counter on campus allows students to manage financial transactions.

Canteen
Three canteens on campus offer food and refreshments during working hours.

Gym
A well-equipped multi-gym is available for students and the public at the college’s fitness centre.
