BACHELOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

The BPT course at Oxford College of Physiotherapy is a 4.5-year program, recognized by the Government of Karnataka and affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Masters of Physiotherapy:-

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

The BPT program is a full-time, 4.5-year course, including a 6-month mandatory internship. English is the medium of instruction and examination.

  • Mark sheets (PUC and 10th/SSLC)

  • Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have passed the two-year Pre-University examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, or an equivalent exam recognized by RGUHS.
  • Students with vocational Physiotherapy as an optional subject are also eligible.
  • Foreign nationals must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and obtain an eligibility certificate from RGUHS.

Marks Requirement:

  • A minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in the qualifying examination.

Age Requirement:

  • Applicants must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year.

Master of Physiotherapy (MPT)

The MPT course is a 2-year full-time program, with English as the medium of instruction.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have completed a BPT/B.Sc. (PT) degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and a 6-month internship.
  • Candidates who completed BPT through correspondence or distance education are not eligible.

Library
The college has three libraries: one at Banashankari, one in the KIMS block, and a reference library on campus. With over 17,000 books on medicine and physiotherapy, the libraries also offer national and international journals. An internet centre provides medical research access for a nominal fee.

Central Library
Founded in 1981, the KIMS Library houses 21,500 medical books, 10,150 bound volumes, and 145 periodicals. A separate hospital library contains 4,600 books for clinical departments. Both libraries feature digital access, internet, and department-specific resources. Operating hours: 8:30 am to 9:00 pm on weekdays.

Hospital & Transport
Students can travel between campuses via mass transport, with buses running during the morning, lunch, and evening hours. A nominal fee applies. Five buses, including a mini-bus and Maruthi vans, transport students to and from various locations.

Hostel
Separate hostels for boys and girls are located near the Pre-clinic campus, about 4 km from the college, with bus transport provided. The hostel is supervised with strict rules.

A Syndicate Bank extension counter on campus allows students to manage financial transactions.
