KUHS was established by the 'KUHS Act 2010', for ensuring proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training and research in Modern Medicine, Homoeopathy and Indian Systems of Medicine including Ayurveda, Siddha, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani and other allied sciences and also to have uniformity in the various academic programmes in medical and allied subjects in the State of Kerala. The University is situated at Thrissur, Kerala. KUHS admission procedure is undertaken by the KUHS management. Colleges and Institutes in Kerala that instruct in Modern Medicine, Homeopathy and Indian System of Medicine are mandated to affiliate with KUHS. There are several UG courses offered by the University, the details of which are given below. Students are selected on the basis of merit. The academic performance of the students in their qualifying examination is taken into consideration. Students should have completed 17 years of age on December 31st to apply for these courses.

Applicants who have qualified NEET UG conducted by CBSE are eligible for admission. A student is eligible for entry to the course after clearing the 12th class (Intermediate) examination. Reservation of seats for scheduled caste/tribes and other backward classes are made according to state government guidelines. NEET (UG) is a national level test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the 2nd week of May and is a pen-paper test of 3 hours’ duration. All counseling procedures for KUOHS, Lucknow admissions 2025 are carried out by the college on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2.

Candidates who have completed MBBS and internship are eligible to apply for admission into MS/ MD. Applicants can get admission on the basis of NEET PG result. NEET-PG is a computer-based test of 3 hours 30 minutes duration and has 300 MCQs to attempt. All the courses are of 2 years duration. The College offers an M.Sc Nursing course, for students who have passed B.Sc nursing.

Candidates who have completed MBBS and internship are eligible to apply for admission into MS/ MD. Applicants can get admission on the basis of NEET PG result. NEET-PG is a computer-based test of 3 hours 30 minutes duration and has 300 MCQs to attempt. All the courses are of 2 years duration. The College offers an M.Sc Nursing course, for students who have passed B.Sc nursing. The M.Sc have course fees of INR 1,08,000 per annum.

The college offers several Diploma courses, which have the same eligibility as most of the undergraduate programs that are HSC or 10+2 passed students can apply for any of the diploma courses, the only condition being that the student should have had science as one of the main subjects. Overall the college offers a total of 11 diploma courses, with most being courses to become a technician. The courses include a diploma in Blood Transfusion, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, X-ray, C.T.Scan Technician, Cardiology Technician, Dialysis Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, Emergency & Trauma Technician, and O.T Technician.
