The Kerala University of Health Sciences was established by the 'Kerala University of Health Sciences Act 2010', for ensuring proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training and research in Modern Medicine, Homoeopathy and Indian Systems of Medicine including Ayurveda, Siddha, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani and other allied sciences and also to have uniformity in the various academic programmes in medical and allied subjects in the State of Kerala. The University was established in 2010. It is affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The University is located in Thrissur, Kerala. The Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) has a variety of UG and PG courses in the field of Health Sciences with various specializations. The University offers courses in the fields of medicine, dental, Ayurveda, Siddha, pharmacy, nursing, allied health sciences, Unani and homeopathy courses. Admission to most of the courses will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The selection to MBBS will be based on the rank secured in NEET.

Applicants who have qualified NEET UG conducted by CBSE are eligible for admission. A student is eligible for entry to the course after clearing the 12th class (Intermediate) examination. Reservation of seats for scheduled caste/tribes and other backward classes are made according to state government guidelines. NEET (UG) is a national level test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the 2nd week of May and is a pen-paper test of 3 hours’ duration. All counseling procedures for KUOHS, Lucknow admissions 2024 are carried out by the college on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2.

The college offers several Diploma courses, which have the same eligibility as most of the undergraduate programs that are HSC or 10+2 passed students can apply for any of the diploma courses, the only condition being that the student should have had science as one of the main subjects.
