Directorate of Distance Education is the pioneer institute of Haryana imparting quality education over the last 35 years. Kurukshetra University was established in 1957 in an area of 472 acres. It offers a wide variety of facilities to its students. It has a large number of renowned faculties to impart knowledge. Distance Education was initiated by the college to provide higher education to people who could not continue their studies due to various reasons. The Directorate of Distance Education was set up in 1976. It admits more than 20,000 students every year. It has a separate building for distance education students. It has air-conditioned labs and a library that can be accessed by the students. It has been awarded the CSR trophy and received the certificate for Top Institutes in India in 2018. It also received the Top Distance Learning University Certificate in 2016.
Kurukshetra University offers various UG and PG courses under the department of distance education (DDE). Kurukshetra University, Distance Education admission provides a number of courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Management, Library Science, and Mass Communication. The admission to the DDE KUK courses is based on the academic records. Kurukshetra University admission also offers Lateral Entry programs along with Diploma and PG Diploma in various disciplines.
