Kurukshetra University was established in 1957 in an area of 472 acres. It offers a wide variety of facilities to its students. It has a large number of renowned faculties to impart knowledge. Distance Education was initiated by the college to provide higher education to people who could not continue their studies due to various reasons.

The Directorate of Distance Education was set up in 1976. It admits more than 20,000 students every year. It offers about 40 UG, PG, and professional courses. It updates the syllabus periodically to cope up with the changing industry conditions.
It has a separate building for distance education students. It has air-conditioned labs and a library which can be accessed by the students. It has been awarded the CSR trophy and received the certificate for Top Institutes in India in 2018. It also received the Top Distance Learning University Certificate in 2016.

The Directorate provides library facilities to the students. They can access the library during working hours. It is a library-cum-study center which is centrally air-conditioned. It also provides two centrally air-conditioned computer labs. The students can also make use of the Jawaharlal Nehru Library at the main campus.
The DDE has set up a three-storied building for the students. It is also centrally air-conditioned and houses the teacher’s room, common room, library, theatres, computer labs, audio-visual room, canteen, etc.
The students can make use of the employment information & guidance bureau set up by the University in collaboration with the Dept. of Employment of Haryana Government. It helps and guides the students in choosing their careers.

The candidates can apply online on the website of the Kurukshetra University Directorate of Distance Education www.kuk.ac.in for admission. The application form can also be submitted in the offline mode. The candidates can download the prospectus from the DDE website and can fill the application, examination, and computer forms and sent it to the Director, DDE, Kurukshetra University. All the relevant documents and the fee in the form of a bank draft should also be sent along with it. The admission will be based on the academic records.
Accommodation will be provided to the students who have registered for the distance education courses at the time of examinations and CPC. The DDE KUK facilities include separate hostel for boys and girls along with indoor and outdoor gaming facilities. It also has a recreational room with provisions for watching TV.
