LBS Institute of Technology for Women Admission 2024: Check Entrance Exams, Courses Offered, Admission Details

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I took KEAM to get into this college. Admission was based on my 12th grades and KEAM rank.

Placements & Internships : As per the new university, KTU, we are given semester breaks during which we are able to go for internships wherever we wish.Some of us, from my class, had done one at the CSL, Kochi and at two other private construction companies till date. Various IT, sales, marketing, manufacturing companies to come to campus recruitments.But the arrival of core companies for the civil department are rare or less when compared to others. A good range percentage of students get placed from our college every year.

Fees & Scholarships : My course fee is Rs 65,000 annually. I am not taking any scholarships currently.

Academics & Faculty : Class timing is fair, which runs from 9:00 am till 4:00 pm, with two intervals in between. But no adequate period of time is available to complete our projects and syllabus simultaneously. The quality and method of teaching vary from professors. Some teachers are very good and knowledgeable, but they lack the quality of making students understand the content properly. While others are fair with teaching skills. If asked about the overall experience in college, I would say that I am okay with it.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : One hostel is there, next to our college.The food is provided over there. But the restrictions imposed are a bit more than what is actually necessary, which is not acceptable.Hostel fees are also not reasonable. Food in college is okay and the rates are not reasonable. Classrooms, labs, and library are good.The fine imposed for late return of books in the library are very high, which is not acceptable. We do not have a separate dining hall except the canteen, which is good, though not perfect. Wi-fi is there, but not accessible to everyone, which has to be taken care off. Mobile phones are not allowed during the working hours of college, which is very difficult in a technical college where we have many presentations, seminars and other assignments going on, for which we may have to refer our mobiles if needed.

Clubs & Associations : NSS, IEDC club, Quiz club, Nature club and such associations are running effectively. The main festival is our intercollege cultural and technical fest, Yagna Dhruva. Intercollege fest, Yavanika is also there.Department wise separate fests and conferences are also being held effectively. Life in college is fun, good and tolerable.
