The MIET university was established in 2001 under Mahavir Group of Institutions. The Mahavir Group of Institutions is a leading Technical, Management and Pharmaceutical Education in the temple city of Odisha. As it runs under the name of the trust called “Nabajuga Educational and Charitable trust”, with a perspective to emphasize modern education to students. The trust runs two pharmacy colleges, one engineering college, one diploma college, and two +2 science colleges in Bhubaneswar.The annual intake is up 2000 students through branches in bachelor's, master’s, diploma engineers and +2 science. Through various institutes across the nation, the college also bagged 23^rd position in Online Quality Assessment Test which was organized by co-cubes for students.
