Pandit Deendayal Energy University (formerly known as PDPU, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University) was established in April 2007 by Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute. The college offers courses like B.Tech (Biotechnology), M.Tech (Artificial Intelligence), B.SC (Honours) and B.Com. These courses aim to address the need for trained human resources in the fields of Science, Technology, Humanities and Management. The college strives to ensure that students who graduate from Pandit Deendayal Energy University make a mark in the world.

The schools under Pandit Deendayal University are the School of Petroleum Management, the School of Petroleum Technology, the School of Technology and the School of Liberal Studies. School of Petroleum Management offers MBA courses. Admission to this course requires a valid score of CAT, XAT, NMAT, or MAT scores conducted by different educational bodies. For the PDPU admission 2025, registration for a few of these exams has already begun. The registration for CAT began on August 1, 2024, and the CAT 2024 is scheduled for November 24, 2024. Similarly, the last day to register for XAT 2025 is November 30, 2024, and the exam for XAT 2025 is scheduled for January 5, 2025.

Since its establishment, the university has been recognised by UGC and SIRO. The college has state-of-the-art infrastructure and provides exemplary placement opportunities to its students. For 2023, more than 100 recruiters took part in the hiring process with a 90% placement percentage. During the 2023 placement drive, the average package offered by PDPU was INR 6.5 LPA, while the highest package was INR 42 LPA.
